And for all those kicking off, you just wait until the new manager bounce wears off.

f**king hell I can't believe what I'm reading, fair enough if you said this after 17 or 18 games, but we've played five games! Coventry we could've easily won and today we played our second team in an awful cup. Get some perspective Ah yes, not allowed an opinion until they've played [Insert games here]. It's called an opinion. My inclination has ofter been right previously FWIW. Sadly I think it will be again. IT'S A FORUM. PEOPLE ARE ENTITLED TO AN OPINION FFS. We don't all have to be happy clappers basing everything entirely on blind faith or benefit of the doubt. For what it's worth, I'm normally about 75-80% happy clapper and I was extremely concerned with the appointment and I am still very concerned. I don't expect I, or Roverdrive will be wrong, but I hope nothing more than to be wrong. Luckily we can get away with it, but this year the cost will be the opportunity rather than the end result (i.e. relegation)

One time I voice an opinion that doesn't tow the party line and surprise, surprise - get sh*t for it.

£40K for a win, £500K+ for reaching the final hardly makes it a friendly? Plus it's the same cr@p we've seen in every other game BG's looking totally out of his depth, whats is record so far LDLDL?? 5 games ago we were top of the current form. Coughlan's first 4 games this season were LDLW, and he'd been manager for 8 months and 7 of the starting XI players were players he'd signed. Give him time, it's clear we were papering over cracks, first team to lose to Bolton and got dominated by Southend Papering over cracks or playing to our strengths? If Man City had played hoofball in the last two seasons they wouldn’t have won the league so they didn’t , their manager has built a side that are capable of pressing high and playing very intricate passing moves , he had a style in mind , brought the players in to do it and has been very successful. Coughlan had a style in his mind brought the players in to do it and got it bang on and was very good at making it work. Now it’s garners turn, poor time to do it mid season but if this is the wY he wants to go then he needs many more players in and out before the end of the month but all we can do is prey he gets it right because if he gets it wrong and gets sacked we could end up with a squad full of players that either aren’t good enough or don’t suit the next managers style stuck on 2 year deals and around it goes again. Troubling times.

I take Upson is suspended for Saturday now then? Big blow... Not sure if a sending off in the EFL Trophy counts in the league. Exeter had a player sent off in the league and a 3 match ban but he was free to play in the next game in the EFL Trophy. That's why I was asking because I'm confused - logically if it's only EFL Trophy then does that just mean he's banned for the next available EFLT game? And if it's league, then that's sh*te.

It's not like this squad clearly doesn't have issues, Coughlan's Banned word football just hid that. He hid the fact we were a sh** football team by winning lots of games. His tactics were so reliant on JCH it was unbelievable, not sustainable long-term whatsoever, which is why from his first 5 games at Mansfield he has 5 points despite having one of the best teams in the league

Thankfully as mods we can edit posts as required. This can quite easily become "best appointment in our history" if we win the next 10 games on the bounce

Even when JCH wasn't playing. Garner has chucked everything that worked about our squad and tactics under the bus because Mourinho wouldn't approve it in a coaching course.

BG has taken over a team 4th in L1 and has 2 points in 4 games.

Troubling times. Yep, I don't imagine the board thought that Coughlan was the sort of manager that would evolve the team the way DC had planned it to go, but you couldn't argue with his results. It caused us to play against the 'ethos' that we were touted to be working towards. It felt like we were just about getting rid of DC's less effective players and getting towards GC's sort of team. That project would have been finished in the summer. Now, it seems with the contrasting aspirations of GC and BG we're in the confused position of building BG's team before GC's team has been finished and before DC's team has even been disbanded. It's concerning coz if Garner's appointment doesn't work out we will need a miracle worker to sort through the remaining detritus.
