The situation with the manager is certain to affect transfer business in my view. But nobody is to blame, the owners have rightly given the manager extended leave. But clearly its a confusing picture for any incoming player to consider.

"It is understood that Bristol Rovers got in touch over the weekend about Ginnelly.
The player met with them on Tuesday to discuss the loan and it is hoped the deal can be done today."
So our transfer window planning sounds lastminute.com as ever? What does Wriddington actually do all season just keep in touch with his ex-Coventry players?
Fingers crossed the club pull this deal off today.

Never particularly stood out to me in the past, but hopefully can do the business for us.

How can any player be on a list if we haven't already contacted the club to see if he's available and would consider a move to Rovers.

We might have asked about availability before and then contacted them over the weekend, saying that we wanted to sign him. I'm sure they are not sat around doing nothing. You going to write this player off yet??

Because you make a list of the players you like, you then work through it. Do you think we contact every single player we like the look ofs club at once and see what comes back?

If you were moaning about on the pitch, I'd tend to agree with you. But if you'd had told me 3 signings in by EoD 16th January, I'd have been over the moon.

Anyone can make signings, it's the quality of signing that counts.

He's complaining that we only got in touch on the weekend.

Exactly this, although as I said earlier- our current status is likely to affect the quality of player we can get.

Won't believe it until our players start following him on Twitter!

I've already posted on this very thread he sounds a good signing and I hope we pull it off, being surprised we're only contacting clubs this week about players availability as nothing to do with the potential quality of the signing. Hopefully he signs and makes the starting 11 on Saturday to give me at least something to look forward , but I doubt you'll be worrying about that given you hardly ever watch us play anyway?

I wonder how much the 'two cup exits' affects our potential in the January window ?. If we beat Coventry home we would of made £150k prize money plus a cut on a 10000 crowd v Brum . If we included highlights we could of made a jackpot of around £250k . Then there is the EFL trophy money of £50k a win and a winnable away game at Exeter. So prior to these horrible results . The club could of identifed a possible income of £300-400k . We now have nothing!.
Who knows ?. The club could have had a potential budget and now a reality budget .

Agreed, but we also made a lot more than we usually do on cup runs - I still see the whole cup runs as a positive, rather than looking at it as a 'what could have been'. Also, Exeter would batter us. We were comfortably beaten by bottom of the EFL Stevenage at home. No way is Exeter away a winnable game

Of course I agree 'what could of been' comment. All I am saying is there is a difference between 'potential ' and 'reality'. Rightly so the club could of chased plan A targets and plan B targets based on income. It could be plan B now ...
