They are being sensible-ish. It does sound like a batch review is needed. If that's the only batch they have it makes sense to stop and review. Its the rhetoric that goes with it thats more concerning. God knows how many we have given OXAZ to and they seem just fine. Apart from bags who was a little off to begin with to be fair. Since aching all over the day after, my penis has fallen off. I'm tempted to see a specialist as fortunately I've kept it in a thimble .

TG - Stuart is correct on adverse events. Another thing that was annoying me was all the new found scientists as well. “I’m not taking the Pfizer vaccine it’s only been tested on 30k people, how can that represent 7 billion - it’s not safe” It just shows the lack of understanding in the trial process. A good trial will have 3000 patients if you’re lucky from phase I-III. 30k is absolutely amazing ffs Thanks for that ,what's their motivation as this trashes the roll out yet again. Well a death is pretty serious and the right thing to do is investigate why. The thing is with any trial, specifically vaccines, is the length of time they’re tested over. They’re absolutely right to pause for now just to confirm there won’t be any link - but my bigger issue is the press reporting it.

Had a successful career afterwards I believe.

Agreed ,although I have read that deaths from blood clots are no greater in the vaccinated population, surely we would have seen a rise in the UK by now if there was a link?. As for the media, they have loved the doom and gloom of this pandemic and their reporting of it as been nothing short of criminal.

My experience of track and trace. Anyone had anything interesting happen?
1. Missus had a notification to isolate for 10 days... She had left the house only once a week for shopping (never standing next to the same person for more than a minute, let alone 15)
2. Mini outbreak in my extended family over Xmas, my dad was exposed to 4 people who had caught it. He couldn't get a test as had no symptoms, he had to contact T&T, said it was an Indian call centre so couldn't understand a word. He wasn't impressed though.

I notice there have been in excess of 1.5 million covid test (results) conducted on each of the last 2 days in the UK,surely with that amount of testing the positive test numbers won’t come down much more from the levels they are now at what with the number of false positives that will inevitably occur from testing numbers of the magnitude we’re seeing now.

Did we actually come to an answer on if it's ok to mix vaccines?

Yeah almost certainly, but with such little data no risks can be taken - worth checking the batch and a full autopsy of the poor soul who lost their life.

Brazil looks like it's in real trouble.
Their covid response hasn't been as awful as the UK but it looks like their health care system is on the verge of collapse with very little vaccine help in sight.
Pandemic is not over yet by a long shot.

Pandemic is not over yet by a long shot. Good friend of mine is Brazilian and he showed me many videos of people in bars etc with no masks, social distancing etc over Christmas (of course their summer). What we both said was look at the cases in their summer. Imagine how winter will be, it’s going to collapse completely

No official figures in Tanzania, does anyone know how Africa in general is coping? "Despite growing evidence to the contrary, Tanzania's government continues to downplay the impact of coronavirus on the country. There is also speculation that President Magufuli is himself suffering from Covid and receiving hospital treatment, although the government has denied this." www.bbc.co.uk/news/56242358

So many people were able to self contain themselves here during Xmas chaos (still not enough were able too imo). Seems so odd that some countries were just told to carry as normal.

Quite a few European countries halting the Oxford astrazenica jab for precautions. No surprise that the Oxford name is dropped from these negative reports in UK media. reut.rs/3qSAygi
