I really don't get the confusion. People vote to the right because it's the politics of self interest. People vote to the left because it's the politics of the people. All I was saying was that Tory voters seem perfectly fine with the way the last 12 months has been handled. Is your first paragraph substantiated by anything or just your opinion. Empirical like most things really, all up for debate. I find it a bit sad when anyone says that what they believe in is all stonewall facts and the like.

If this article is accurate, looks like France will be out of bounds. 😶 "As much of the world desperately seeks COVID vaccines, there is evidence in France that millions of people are reluctant to have a jab. The most recent polls suggest around half of the adult population may refuse a vaccination - leading health professionals to worry about public safety long term. Vaccine scepticism is high in many European countries and in few places more than France where so-called "anti-vax" websites and platforms have drawn thousands of followers." news.sky.com/story/covid-19-france-faces-challenge-to-persuade-millions-of-vaccine-sceptics-to-take-jab-12241898

If this transpires then the implications for them socially and economically could be very serious, not allowed to travel and banned as a destination may make them see sense, although they do have form in the area of pinheadNess.

From Sky:
"Heathrow passenger numbers down 92% year-on-year in February
Only 461,000 people travelled through Heathrow Airport last month - its lowest monthly passenger numbers since 1966.
The airport put the decline down to, obviously, the stay at home orders and ban on international travel.
Chief executive John Holland-Kaye said: "Aviation has always led the UK economy out of recession, and we will do so again.
"The PM's Global Travel Taskforce can lead the way on reopening international travel and trade safely - but ministers must get a grip of Border Force's performance so that visitors get a warm welcome to Britain, not a six-hour queue." "

Is this as promising as it seems? "GlaxoSmithKline Plc and Vir Biotechnology Inc. released data showing their Covid-19 antibody therapy reduces the risk of death in severe cases. The companies said Thursday that they will immediately seek emergency use authorization in the U.S. after they finished a late-stage study early on the recommendation of an independent monitoring board. Doctors are looking for therapies to counter Covid-19, and London-based Glaxo and San Francisco-based Vir are working with the U.S. National Institutes of Health on studies of the antibody therapy. Other antibodies from Eli Lilly & Co. and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. have received authorizations for emergency use from U.S. regulators." www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-03-11/glaxo-vir-biotechnology-covid-treatment-reduces-risk-of-death?utm_source=upday.samsung.browser&utm_medium=referral

metro.co.uk/2021/03/11/over-30s-to-be-vaccinated-by-april-as-tens-of-millions-of-doses-land-in-uk-14224155/Over-30s could be on track to receive Covid vaccines in April as tens of millions of doses arrive on UK soil. The country will see a ‘rapid increase’ in supply in the second half of March, Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi has revealed. England alone is set to administer four million jabs a week after UK vaccinations fell to just over two million every seven days. Speaking to the Women and Equalities House of Commons Committee, Mr Zahawi said until now ‘supply has been finite’ but the situation is about to ‘get easier’.

" Dont know about you Stuart but I can't see overseas travel getting back to anywhere near pre pandemic levels,to many people will be fearful and who wants to fanny around in airports for hours dreadful places plus business travel has dropped off a cliff. I also think this past year has woken folk up to the environmental damage as well.

Boris said some time ago, the aim is to get 32 million their first jab by April 15th. That's 35 days. 22.8 million have now had their first jab. I make that 9.2 million left. I also make that a target of 260,000 per day. Obviously, this is first jab only. Going pretty well.

This won't help take up regardless of truth. "The European Medicines Agency has launched an investigation into the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab after reports of blood clots in vaccinated people. At present there is no firm evidence to suggest the two are linked and incidents of clotting have not been reported in the UK. The Danish Health and Medicines Authority has suspended the use of the vaccine in Denmark for at least 14 days while investigations are carried out. They did not say how many reports of blood clots there had been." news.sky.com/story/covid-19-blood-clot-reports-in-europe-prompt-investigation-into-oxford-astrazeneca-vaccine-12242530

Interesting that it seems to relate if proved to one batch,no evidence in the UK . This will be manna from heaven for the anti vaxxers

This sort of stuff really annoys me, it shouldn’t be in the press - not until it’s confirmed either way.
During the trials if really angered me that all news sources would report huge stories on adverse events - like ffs I can’t explain enough how common AEs are in clinical trials.
Just scaremongering bullshit

Another thing that was annoying me was all the new found scientists as well. “I’m not taking the Pfizer vaccine it’s only been tested on 30k people, how can that represent 7 billion - it’s not safe” It just shows the lack of understanding in the trial process. A good trial will have 3000 patients if you’re lucky from phase I-III. 30k is absolutely amazing ffs They’d have a heart attack if they learnt about orphan diseases!

They are being sensible-ish. It does sound like a batch review is needed. If that's the only batch they have it makes sense to stop and review. Its the rhetoric that goes with it thats more concerning. God knows how many we have given OXAZ to and they seem just fine. Apart from bags who was a little off to begin with to be fair.
