And there are experts every day saying it's a huge concern. It's not as bad as people might be making out, but it's a huge concern. The biggest issue is when it spreads in the UK, for now it's nice and easy to sit back and say no problem. Depends who you want to listen to though, either someone doing an interview or the WHO, EU, UK Government, pharma industry etc. Pharma industry😂 the same pharma industry that makes millions from poisoning people to death with chemotherapy in the hope it kills the cancer 1st. And yes, I have been in that position myself. 25 when I was diagnosed with a rare cancer. 9 years past it tho💪 Well said! I was thinking the same! I trust the pharma industry about as much as the KGB. Another industry milking people, people that are dying.

Really please you won your battle mate, lost someone in 2018 to the fight, but sadly you’re mistaken on this one

So is that a reason to ignore them and everyone else giving the same advice? My sister in law is a pharmacist and she is concerned. What is it? 8 out of 10 needent worry? I have 4 close relatives who are very vulnerable. If I had to guess I think in the UK we will be fine, but we need to take it seriously in order for that to happen. If we all just had some people’s attitudes of ‘it will all be fine’ then we will be in real trouble.

The WHO, an organisation that made Robert Mugabe a 'goodwill ambassador'. So is that a reason to ignore them and everyone else giving the same advice? The WHO are an organisation in bed with big pharma and once described by The Lancet as an institution that was "corrupt and on its last legs." There is always plenty of panic and fear mongering with these situations and lots of money to be made by the big pharmaceutical industrial complex. Seen it all before with the bird flu* of 2009. EDIT: *H1N1 Swine flu of 2009 even!

It looks pretty likely that some games in the coming weeks are going to be played behind closed doors or cancelled altogether.
Worse-case scenario is we're looking at the season being postponed until things are back under control. No way they can just cancel the season altogether at this point.

You conveniently ignore the question put to you, pirate. Not the first time. Do you have evidence of that statement? Besides, even if they did then one time doesn’t mean it’s correct. Organizations and companies make statements all the time, some correct, some not. But if you want to ignore all the worlds organisations’ advice because you don’t like the WHO, then whilst it’s beyond weird logic - be my guest. Also - bird flu of 2009? Wasn’t that swine flu? VERY different disease

Exactly - just continue to wash hands etc. and follow the advice and most likely we will be fine. The issue is if people ignore it

In the same way, FIFA may be corrupt, but they still know who is in the draw for the World Cup.

If they implement the 5,000 ruling as in France on public meetings events etc, maybe clubs like ours lower leagues allow the Season Tickets holders entry to the game, and the number over that pay by ticket first come first served up to the 5k cap? At least the ST holders are honored.

Well, if you had tickets for a concert and it was cancelled you would get your money back. I would imagine if they didn’t that would be another blow to their season ticket sales next season. County Cricket members don't get refunds for rain affected days. Yes, but they know that when they buy the season ticket. Cricket is dependent on the weather. My Grandad was a member of Glos CC for years and didn’t get to see games when it was festival time and they played away from Bristol. Didn’t stop him renewing. He just accepted it.

But wouldn’t you expect that if the club had to call games off due to an extreme unexpected event that actually was enforced by the government, that you’d also accept that the club doesn’t have to give the money back? What did we do during WW1 & WW2? (Genuine question) People had a bit of a moan about Bury but they didn’t lose it too much. Similar situation. I’d fully expect the club to not give a refund but instead offer value where they can - more likely discounted the next season to make up for it

VERY different disease Apologies, I meant the H1N1 swine flu of 2009. Plenty of panic and fear mongering with that, which led to a lot of money being made by big pharma. Trying to find evidence for the statement, I stumbled across this, which is an interesting read: www.globalresearch.ca/politics-corruption-who/5702045I will continue to follow the NHS' guidelines such as washing hands etc, much like I would with other illnesses.

Apparently the Chinese are conducting clinical trials of intravenous vitamin C to help combat the Coronavirus.

So where did the quote before come from? I actually work currently for a Canadian company and tbh I’ve never heard of this Canadian Global Research company, but that’s not to say there isn’t any corruption in the WHO. I’m just saying it’s not a reason to distrust their warnings here. Yeah swine flu was very different - no deaths I believe? Although I had it and I have to say that was the worst I ever felt. The part I don’t buy here is that whilst there is money to be made from a vaccine, only one company would get it. So it’s not like there would be 500 companies making billions - it’s basically first come first served

What did we do during WW1 & WW2? (Genuine question) I think games were suspended 1915 to 1919, and women's football became quite popular. And again 1939 to 46.

True, a quick google shows we entered WW2 in September in 39 so I’d assume if season tickets were a thing back then, it would have been easier to refund/deal with

My son has had a temprature recently, I took my son to see the GP yesterday and then was referred to the Children's for their input. Asking about travel, etc was an afterthought by the GP and nothing mentioned in Children's ED. Mind you, both were very quick to see us. I hope it was just a mild fever and nothing more. From the info given out it seems as though the virus generally doesn't have that much effect on the youngsters. It's us old crinklies who have to worry! My son is off on a school camp for four days in a couple of weeks. It's a German tradition that at around the age of nine the kids go away from home for four nights. He will be going with his complete class at school. However, at a meeting last night the school said they had no worries about the virus and it will still go ahead, which in my opinion is the correct thing to do. Obviously things could change, and like everyone else they are watching developments.
