Based on yesterday's figures of cases per million of population.... UK.........640 Romania....992 Bulgaria...729 Or maybe they're using figures lower than the UK . Wonder why ? Why would you expect the UK to be doing better than "Old Eastern European Countries " baring in mind both these countries have been members of the EU for the past 15 years. It also states on the graph " Number of confirmed cases is lower than the number of actual cases, the main reason for that is limited testing" Baring in mind the UK has undertaken more tests than the 3 biggest countries on that graph namely Germany, France and Italy put together and over 100 million more tests than all the others put together. So could there be a small element of truth in what I've previously said "that during a pandemic the more testing you do the more chance you have of positive results" This is hard work š Weāve tested more because more people think they might have covid , so more people go for a test . As for the Eastern European countries and their infrastructure etc I would of thought that was quite obvious. Simple conclusions from simple peopleā¦ here are the facts (last time I checked anyway, I canāt imagine its changed much) Not so long ago Germany had a positivity rate of 8-10% and 2-3x higher than the uk, suggesting they miss a fair chunk of positive cases. Germany also tests 1/10 of the amount we do. Some countries either charge for tests, or are about to. āPlan Bā will do sod all, itās just more fear driven media hype, which is why Yatton has got the Kleenex out. You only have to see the rest of the U.K, which already had it, to see that. The public do not have an appetite for the restrictions that would actually get somewhere.

Iām beginning to wonder if Iām arguing with someone who is mentally challenged, if so I apologise. Unless of course I shouldnāt find it strange that cases drop after schools reopen? At least when I am wrong, I have no problem recognising it happens. Try it

Proper ventilation measures in schools , masks in indoor places , proof of vaccination to go to public events etc ?Ā Iām all for going back to normal ASAP but if cases are high and still rising as we go into winter a few mitigating measures would help . I get it that everyone is thoroughly bored rigid with it but just because people have had enough doesnāt make it go away. A COVID jab doesnāt make you immune , itās great but not full proof . Where do you think most transmission takes place? Itās not public transport or shops, itās private homes, bars/clubs etc. Even if masks are effective, they wouldnāt be used where they would make a difference. Covid passports donāt do all that much when the vaccines arenāt great at stopping the transmission of delta. Wales/Scotland/NI have the measures you describe, and how are they doing? Worse than England for the most part. Iām sure if it was the other way around people would be using it as evidence to bring those measures in, but whatās your explanation now? While deaths are sad, 150 a day in a population of 68m isnāt that much, similar numbers to how many die a day from flu on average winter, for which no one bats an eyelid. *Most of those deaths are unvaccinated*, and now people have the choice to protect themselves, the rest of us shouldnāt have to change our lives to protect those who willingly accept the risk. You can nosh yourself off to all the fear porn you can find every day, but for the rest of us life goes on and this **** is over. In the most recent period (13 Sept - 10 Oct) there were 2,805 Covid deaths in this database. 2,136 of them were fully-vaccinated.

Itās just not 100% , itās 96% or thereabouts. So 50k cases a day , results in 200 deaths a day . Savage Javid seems ok with 100k cases a day or 400 deaths a day it seems .

That means 90% of Covid deaths were vaccinated?

You know, where lots of people are mingling for 8+ hours, 5 days a week.

Good timing for Rees-Mogg to come out with this then, isnāt it? Conservative MPs don't need to wear masks during debates because they know each other, Jacob Rees-Mogg has said. The Commons leader said the party's "convivial, fraternal spirit" meant they were acting in line with government Covid guidance. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-58993387

Nice to see mogg keeping to his same pompous schtick, a week after one of his sidekicks was murdered and the outpouring of victimhood.
