The thing is with Pirate, he takes the time and trouble to provide evidence for his opinions. You might not agree with the evidence or think it is credible, and as a matter of fact I think the dissenting scientists are a very small minority of the medical community, but at least he doesn't just make controversial statements with no backup. You don't have to read or view his attachments, but they are there should you wish to. Doesn't mean I agree with Pirate, but some of it is food for thought, if only to show that scientific opinion is divided. Where I part company with some anti-vaxxers is in the conspiracy theories I've read which say that the dangers of vaccines are known but suppressed, by doctors under direct threat of losing their jobs, and the whole sorry Covid saga being some sort of means to an end in terms of control of the population by a hidden super-elite. There is a lot of this stuff out there. That may be how it presents, but is not quite the case. His arguments are a deliberate misrepresentation of the facts. For the last year he has continued to fail to understand the difference between medics and statistical differences. Quite recently he had a good debate with our dear Officer and after being caught out, refused to discuss it further and gave some ridiculous excuse. 24 hours later the same rubbish started posting again. |

That is pretty damn good news. Of course the issue could be statistical again though. What’s worse - a delta which infects 1m people in which 10,000 go to hospital, or Omicron which infects 10m people which 30,000 go to hospital? The numbers are made up and for illustrative purposes only, but it can still show why a lockdown can still be needed, even if the news is good. The bigger picture here is that due to successive governments underfunding the NHS for decades we have NO spare capacity and by Governments that includes the SNP in Scotland and Labour in Wales who are also culpable. If it wasn't Covid it would be flu,what happens when this Pandemic goes away is my question. |

He provides twitter links mainly and at other times better sources which DO NOT corroborate the point he is trying to make. For example, his suggestion that the vaccine made no difference to hospital admissions because most patients are vaccinated. He presented a fact but presented it as evidence for something it is clearly not. To make division between pirates posts and 'anti-vax conspiracy theories' (sic) is also not appropriate. He has made direct reference amongst other things to: Bill Gates, population control and a global financial elite being behind it all. As such, I believe that he is represented himself on here as absolutely an anti-vaxxer with a host of conspiracy ideas behind it. I believe that he is presenting sources as fact which are opinion and I believe he is littering this thread with misinformation in the hope that his posts will influence others. God forbid is ever does. What is not clear to me is whether he understands this and is doing it deliberately or not. Also, its impossible not to see his posts without action because the threads are enormous and mostly twitter content which is annoying and lazy and reduces the enjoyment for the rest of us because 1. Its bullshit and 2. Its impossible to get a discussion going when the thread turns in to a picture book twitter feed. You have to block him to get rid of it which I've done. Apart from that I reckon you're spot on! |

Well I agree with most of that. Just trying to defend someone whose views I don't agree with, but who tries to present some sort of evidence. Ok some of it is from Twitter, but by no means all. As for the conspiracy theories, I have no time at all for the nonsense. What is never answered is how and why. How is there a global denial of the harm caused by the vaccine? Hundreds of thousands of people must be involved in the cover-up, all complicit in suppressing evidence. Yet a few speak up freely. Which brings me on to why. If this is a plot to control the masses, why are some allowed to say what they want? You'd expect them all to be involved in tragic car accidents or bizarre electrocutions. And why is there a plot to control everyone? To what ends? The rich are rich. They have everything they want. They can't need to get any richer. Do they just want to enslave us like something out of a sci-fi movie, whilst cackling uncontrollably? |

Is it wrong to point out Bill Gates is one of the biggest funders of the World Health Organisation, is one of the World Economic Forum 'Global Leaders', is constantly paraded on TV as some sort of expert when he isn't a doctor and has no medical qualifications, is constantly pushing for vaccines to be introduced and for indemnification provided for the companies potentially liable for any adverse reactions, has stocks invested in Pfizer (see Here), gave millions to the MHRA, has given £280m to Imperial College London with Professor Neil Ferguson and his dodgy computer model calculations and the same Gates who gave £40m to the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine while Prof Chris Whitty was Director and Principal Investigator? Of course, no conflict of interest here and nothing to see. |
