So they're removed some of the measures to travel at the request of the travel industry.
I would say it's great news, but of course they've only removed the need for a test before entering the UK, rather than the day 2 test.
Meaning anyone can now come to the UK, infect everyone on the plane and travel/do what they want spreading the virus until they get their negative result by the 3rd day.
Why not just have people have a negative test before entering the country and that would be that? Its cheaper, more effective and would aide the recovery of travel.
As Baggins put it, ever get the feeling someone is benefitting from this?

I caught a few figures from the radio earlier, NHS staff absences are currently 8% where normally at this time of year it would be 5%.
Daily admissions for respiratory illnesses would usually be 1,000 per day while it's currently double that.

I'm not sure this Country is even clinging on anymore.

Might help if nurses could access LFTs directly, rather than having to join the same scramble as the General public. I went to 6 pharmacies last week trying to find some for my wife so she could test before presenting for work.

Whilst my local pharmacy (London) had a load, I ‘booked’ then online on the website and was given a QR code

This seems to be the way it’s going , get vaccinated or have your freedoms curtailed. It’s time for the tail to stop wagging the dog 🐕. I’m sure everyone won’t agree with me but hey ho .

Strongly disagree that vaccines should be compulsory.
I think me and Pirate would share some common ground on that.

I’ve not read into what they mean by compulsory vaccinations but I doubt if a load of storm troopers are going to go into houses of the over 50s , hold them down and jab them . Just means they won’t be able to go into restaurants, shops , banks etc . so they still have a choice , but less options 😀. If my mother, daughter or anyone else for that matter were to get Ill and their treatment was delayed or impeded because the hospitals are clogged up with the unvaccinated , that’s them causing everyone else hardships or possibly worse consequences.

Spot on. The unvaccinated are selfish fuckers. They should have to pay for private health care and not be supported by the NHS, it's not fair.

On that basis should the same people see a reduction in there tax/NI deductions too?.

Yeah let's go all out and insist anyone who needs cancer care though smoking, a liver transplant through drinking, or takes up a hospital bed with injuries through playing sport pays for private health care and should not be supported by the NHS.

You’d have to be incredibly stupid to conflate anti vaxers with people who get cancer. There you go , that’s the right wing for you 🙄
