As regards Greta...I think a lot of her problem is that she is preaching to the converted. Most western countries/Governments have strong environmental lobbies. You can argue how effective they are etc but that pressure for good is there. Not so the further east you go. And surely there should be some pressure put on those areas by her and her supporters to get some traction there? To be fair I do not know that she hasn’t....just not seen the published evidence of such activity. Of course, going back to the original point of this thread, that may be a bit difficult at the moment.....(or indeed at any other time given the way those sorts of Governments operate against dissent etc). But that’s where work needs to be done and seen to be done. Tbf, she's gone to UN talks and spoke in the US which is the 2nd largest polluter in the world. Sadly I'm not sure much can be done about it in China, but we can certainly improve here in Europe. It isn't enough to just say we're working on it. And ultimately, what she's doing it working. Hell, a Bristol Rovers forum is talking about it so she must be doing something right. I don't remember Boris Johnson going to speak at the Labour party conference though, did people question him preaching/speaking to only Tory supporters? Well not at their Conference maybe, but he must have “spoken” to quite a few Labour supporters elsewhere to break through the so called “Red Wall” to get his majority. |

Tbf, she's gone to UN talks and spoke in the US which is the 2nd largest polluter in the world. Sadly I'm not sure much can be done about it in China, but we can certainly improve here in Europe.
