Big picture tonight is that Tranmere didn’t make anything up on us and Southend and Bolton both lost so we won’t get relegated. Whoopee! 😀 Would have been great to win but that sounds down to missing lots of chances. JCH was tucking most chances away before Christmas even when we didn’t create much. Now it sounds as if we are creating a few but he’s missing them. BG’s an easy scapegoat but don’t think that’s necessarily the managers fault. As for not playing the 7 players he signed, 3 of them played tonight. And can you imagine the meltdown on here if on that pitch he’d brought on Abraham for his league debut and Tranmere scored a last minute winner? Absolutely pointless on that pitch risking a hard-earned point just to play a youngster. Well done the players tonight. UTG! Can't believe our standards have dropped so low that we're happy not to win again this season just because there are 3 teams even more useless than us! I disagree, nobody would blame Abraham if we conceded a last minute goal unless he put it in the net himself. If BG was so desperate to reward the fans with a win, why only make one sub when the players on the pitch can't hit a cows arse with a proverbial ukelele. Timmy must be wondering why bothered coming here.

Reasoned view you re banned 😂😂😂😂 We got found out under GC and it was dire, agree with everything the Evil post reporter wrote pre match today, we were so lucky in so many of the games scraping wins, that it was unsustainable, and we had to change it. BG will get it right, I have every faith. Not to have a go mate, but how can a team be lucky over 46 games? From when GC took charge to when he left, we were second in the form table. I don't dispute that there were few games where we outclassed the opposition, but it can't be all down to luck when you go the equivalent of an entire season winning games. Ah the FACTS at last!!

My point about Abraham is that bringing on a young player in the last few minutes, any of them, and they made a poor pass or a mistake to give away a goal would have caused meltdown on here. So take the point and stay way above Tranmere. And in May 2014 I’d have been delighted to have been happy to say there were 2 teams worse than us even if people had accused me of dropping my standards. UTG!

The result was about what I expected. I'll take an away point in the circumstances.
Wonder if the Ipswich forum is in meltdown after their 0-0 against Wimbledon?

Coughlan’s form here was largely based on hitting the ball up to an on-form JCH and hoping for the best, yes we’ve had games that we won this season which didn’t feature him, but I’d put that down to High confidence from winning the games he did feature in. Now I ask, what happens if that on-form striker that your team is largely reliant on stops scoring altogether? I think we have to stop kidding ourselves because ever since GC left JCH has looked like a completely different player. Maybe GC is the only one who can get the best out of JCH?
Even though our form has been horrendous something about Garner just makes me back him, I think he’s right, sooner or later we’ll beat a team and I don’t think we’ll just beat them, I think we’ll hammer them. He did a Great interview and felt really heartfelt at the end where he teared up a bit, makes me wonder if we should think about discounting a lot of his early poor form in our mind? As he was clearly not in the right state of mind and fully focusing on the club and so we didn’t get the best out of him during that time, and ever since he’s come back we’ve looked such a better team. If his first 5 games were our last 5 I think we’d overall be a lot more positive, but as there were 8 awful performances prior to that people don’t have the same patience, I suppose my point is, maybe it’d be wise to take those 8 games with a very large pinch of salt because Garner was clearly pre-occupied

Doesn’t change my mind that I think he was the wrong appointment at the time but the players are clearly playing for him and there are signs that were starting to gel as a team playing his way. It would be pointless to sack him now and start again just as we’re improving and I think he’s right we have improved over these last few games. Another 4-5 games and then if we’re still losing or drawing every week then he probably should go.

As others have said,we are improving, the players are giving everything,we have 7 new players settling in. I was dead against the appointment at the time but with performances improving for me it makes sense to give him more time to turn it around. He needs a win and other good results anytime soon clearly but i reckon most supporters are standing by him at the moment.

Looking at that form I think we’ll lose 0 - 0. Oh dear, I was only joking!

I can see where you're coming from, I think I'm just disappointed we didn't go for it! If it was May and we'd been in a relegation fight for the last few weeks, of course I'd take the point. But we were 13th and 16 points above them! I'm going to find it very difficult to motivate myself for the last 3 months of the season if our only aim is to tread water

What did people think about our defence last night? I thought we didn't concede because Tranmere were a poor team rather than we had improved. Still concerned about this and individual players like Craig and Kilgour seem much worse in this formation than GC's.

No doubt Garner is a good coach, but that doesn't make him a good manager as we all know they same applied to Paul Trollope

Should go back to 3 CH's and 2 wingbacks The problem with that is we’ve signed some decent looking wingers. Although I agree we were so solid with 3 centre halves. I suppose we could play 3-4-3 that way we’d have the wing backs and the wide forwards, we’d lose a centre midfielder but as we’ve all said do we really need Clarke Ogogo and Upson all similar in there together. If it meant dropping one to have wingbacks and wingers then surely worth a try.
