I too have decided not to go to Southend, even though it’s only a 40 mile trip for me. I don’t recognise the club I’ve been watching since 1968.....dreadful owners who can’t or won’t invest, weak executive management and sadly a manager who is totally out of his depth. Relegation next season if this continues, and with attendances down, season tickets, merchandise and match day revenues down, the spiral could get a lot worse. Very sad times. You have highlighted what could be the biggest problem in selling ST’s and that which sustains the club. Right now it feels like I can see what’s going to happen but it’s out of control and I ultra slow motion, just like it felt when I came off of a motorbike. I genuinely fear for the clubs existence. Please, someone put out a statement and give us some leadership. This is awful to see & worrying.

As much as I’ve backed Ben , if we lose to Southend surely his position will be under review ? If it’s not already

I'm still in the BG camp. We have got to give him the Summer window to replace the midfield, as I believe this is where our problem is.

Give him to end of season? Ok, but what if form and performances continue in same vein? It would then be absolute madness to expect next season to be any different. Look up Nathan Jones pathetic performance at Stoke over a similar period as a case study of wishful thinking! Give him to the end of the season but there would have to be consistent signs of improvement. I don’t make every match but some have said there have been signs of a change in ethos at other games. Clearly yesterday was not one of them. I just don’t think he’s got the players that can produce what they are training all week on a match day. The worry is with our finances/level we play at, I’m not sure he will. He is used to working with much more technically gifted players. You don’t find many of them in league one and those you do cost money. UTG This is the key thing for me. In the 'Will BG ever get us playing his way' thread I made a similar point. I fear we will be unable to attract the calibre of player to ever make his style work in our league. The players he can recruit might have technical ability but they won't be up to the rigours of League 1. He doesn't seem, to me, to be willing or able to recruit the blend of youth and experience we need - all technical youth will only end up in relegation.

Garner, Starnes, Wael, deserve each other, three hopeless, hapless peas in a pishpoor pod.

In my opinion the whole of the midfield needs replacing. There isn't one of them I'd keep.
