The best we’ve played under Garner so far. Managed the game really well.
Hopefully we can take confidence from this and push on now. JML, JCH, Rodman and Hargreaves all excellent. Pleased for BG.

What a cracking result. I was predicting a heavy defeat tonight, but the team have done brilliantly!
Well done to BG too, credit where it's due as I've given him a lot of stick the last week or 2.

Great result. Obviously one swallow doesn’t make a summer and BG still plenty to prove but this performance proves he hasn’t lost the dressing room. UTG!

Cracking performance! Whilst I've been happy to slate the tactics and performances recently, it must be applauded tonight.
That was superb for pretty much the entire 90 minutes. Yes Sunderland didn't show up, but we completely outplayed them. Blackpool I felt we got lucky, but there was no luck tonight. A hard fought, well deserved win that really should have been 3-0.
It seems Garner finally worked out that JCH needs a striker with him. It wasn't pretty, passing football that Ben has been banging on about, this was straight out of the Graham Coughlan book. But it worked. It's bloody effective.
It's incredibly important we build on this, rather than look back as a one off in Garners reign. Put performances in like that until the end of the season, and he may just do alright here.
JCH, ML, Rodman & Hargreaves all 10/10 tonight.

Looking forward to seeing what Daly can do. I like the look of Daly. Agreed. Harries too showed a confidence and maturity well beyond his years and a massive improvement on his Saturday performance. |

So what happened on Monday at training did the players ask BG if they could go back to playing the GC way for TC's 600th game, as I can't understand where that performance came from. Even JCH returned to his pre-November injury form, Rodman probably played is best game ever in a Rovers shirt & OC probably had his best game of the season by some margin.

Aside from just how terrible Sunderland were, We looked like a team with a genuine game plan. Did the defensive basics very well, looked solid and pressed well. Several stand out performances, JML/Hargreaves/Rodman in particular for me.
Well done gas. And well done to BG... HOPE
