Massive win, 3 more saturday and we can relax, well done rovers. Even with increased confidence levels I don't think we'll be capable of winning even 2 games on Saturday, let alone 3! careful you dont choke on that humble pie funny boy

Got a strange feeling we'll scrape a point tonight...no logic to it I know but stranger things have happened. Law of averages...even the worst teams pick up a point or three sometimes. Must admit for first time in 55 years, I really don't care what the result is tonight. BG has managed to create a level of apathy that even Graydon, Buckle and McGee could not achieve. I'll watch on ifollow as can't be arsed to drive 120 miles tonight. I feel the same way, and fully agree apart from the scrape a point bit perhaps. Could have written a very similar post : 54 years and 110 miles worth of can't be arsed! Did you watch on ifollow...could not believe my eyes ...effort and passion...what a change.

Great result. Obviously one swallow doesn’t make a summer and BG still plenty to prove but this performance proves he hasn’t lost the dressing room. UTG! 2 wins in 20, so 1 win in 10- unfortunately that’s basically what you would expect in terms of the law of averages. The two observations to make are that, as you say, they are still capable of putting in a performance and we are capable of winning if our bright start is allowed to carry on unchecked- contrast that with eg the Coventry home game who cut us down to size once they asserted themselves despite us starting better. It doesn’t sound like Sunderland got into the game in that respect. Can we go toe to toe with a decent side and win or do we need sides to turn up and not be at their best in order to pick up wins? That’s the acid test for Garner imo, it’s all very well beating a poor Blackpool and an under-whelming Sunderland once in a blue moon, that won’t keep us up next season. So there needs to be consistency, for me to be convinced

How can we go from getting comfortably beat by a team consisting of academy players to easily beating Sunderland tonight? I just don’t get Rovers sometimes. and that is why we love the gas

Football, bloody hell! funny ole game in it! so pleased for team and especially BG, take a bow Ben, one small step but its a start, chuffed to bits for fans who at last have something to celebrate! does make you wonder though what the hell the players have been doing the two previous games, as it turned out a vital win with Tranny winning!
PS COCKERGAS FOR PRESIDENT!!

Did you say draw? I'd take that right now.
The only draw you are likely to see tonight will be done at half time
You were right 😂

Cam Hargreaves coming in for upson and our midfield performing much much better is no shock to me. I hope to never see upson play a game for rovers again he was one of the main reasons why we have been so poor recently a absolute passenger most games

3 center backs with Alfie in there , hard working , plenty of support for JCH. It’s like going back 3 months in time. I was just going to say that. 3 CB’s putting their body on the line, hardworking midfielders, Rodman at right back. Reminds me of things under Coughlan. And Hargreaves pretty much alongside JCH as the number 10/ Nichols role. Hargreaves was outstanding tonight one of our best players although there wasn’t anyone under 7 out of 10.

Thoroughly enjoyed it and can't remember when i was last so loud and animated in front of my laptop! InB4 Bolders and Co. I'm referring to watching the Gas.

Leahy is so bad, he’s completely lost any confidence on the ball Leahy played well tonight. All the back 5 did. So great to see Alfie back in the middle and Rodman back as right wing back.

Chased everything and didn’t allow the Sunderland players any time on the ball. Exactly what was needed. Only player I’d be tempted to give below a 7 tonight would be Leahy but I suppose he did his job as a defender and kept a clean sheet.

So there needs to be consistency, for me to be convinced I sense if we were in Liverpool's position you still wouldn't be convinced! There's no reason why Sunderland just decided to roll over and die tonight as a win would have taken them second. God knows why but it seems we actually turned up wanting to win tonight, Ipswich's poor recent form now gives us a great chance of making it two consecutive wins on Saturday.

A good battling performance. A return to the team all defending and closing down quickly whilst making the most of a few opportunities. The GC method. Hence a return to clean sheet and victory. Carry on like that and a top ten finish might happen.

No humble pie. It’s only improved the win ratio to 10%.
When we’re at 35% in November then I’ll eat my humble pie but until then I’ll be crapping my pants at the thought of Ben Garner remaining in charge.
