Atteyo, Garland, Cheesely ( good friend) and Gery Gow were all players I’d have liked in our team although I never saw Atteyo play due to my age John Atyeo was a good footballer in that era (after all he did play for England 6 times and scored 5 goals) , and after he retired he was a regular at Twerton watching the Rovers. He was a quiet giant.

There’s one I can think of, but can’t remember his name. What was the name of that player? I can’t remember. Didn’t he end up at oxford on loan? We could have done with him for our promotion push a couple of seasons back. snaky McSnake. Twatty Failure

Maybe Scott Murray, Louis Carey, Kevin Amankwaah, Shaun Goater, Tony Thorpe.... couldn’t even name most players that have played for them in the last 10+ years tho tbh.. don’t keep up with them

I won’t attempt to spell his name but the skilful Polish dude they got from Celtic but spent most of his time in Clifton wine bars. I reckon he’d be a cult hero whichever club he played at. I think we’d have also loved Shaun Taylor, old fashioned put your head in where it hurts sort of centre half. What I can remember of him he was very skillful, would love to have seen him play here. Didn't he put on a load of weight, and left them a few stone heavier? Or am I completely wrong?

What the f**k is this thread about?
Has everyone lost their minds??
Sh1!heads the lot of them.
Other than Philips I can even remember a decent reject we've had off them.
Some of you need to self isolate.
And take a shower.

If I have to join in:
Trevor Morgan.
Oh, we did like the look of him and got him just in time to score the first goal for us at Twerton.

Which brings me to a subject i have often had, what say in the 1960s city and rovers had joined forces, one team, one forty thousand stadium, great away support, and im sure top class football would have been played here many seasons ago, along the lines of norwich, swansea, cardiff etc, whats your thoughts?

Graydon asked me to look at an 82 reserve player for him. I said not to sign him and he didn't. The name escapes me at the moment but he was a central midfield player who wasn't very good. I said to sign a different player instead, Leroy Lita.

Ah one team Bristol almost happened around about 1982 happy days. Don't get me wrong I can't stand the runts but with hindsight one United city/rovers team would surely have had more success than either team has done in the forty plus years I've been watching.

Best c*** players I think were Tony Ford, Trevor Jacobs, Steve Phillips. Can’t think of many good ones recently but I’m sure they’ll come good again some time. 😉 UTG!

Brian Tinnion or Shaun Taylor for me. Guess it’s an age/era thing. For those of you that said Atyeo, you know your knocking on when one of your “idols” is now a bronze statue!
