Whilst the leak of the discussions is wrong, I don't think I heard anything which isn't already in the public domain or at least in public speculation. The players contract situation has been all over the press, suggestions about ending the season have been all over the press so really nothing new.
I would guess the leak, if intended in a malicious way, would be from one of our soon to be out of contract players, but that could be just a suspicion on my part!

I think the only reason the Premiership want to try and finish the fixture list is they know that if they don't they will have a Court Case to fight from Scousers who once again will feel hard done by as they were robbed of seeing the Trophy presented at Anfield. With regards contracts - Does anyone know who will be out of contract this year please....Sounds like there could be a total free for all come January if that's when a new season might start. I think this could be a great reset. The line ups on the first day of the next season will likely look completely different up and down the country.

I think easiest way to sort out League 1 would be to have a top seven separated from the rest, and they have a super series whereby they can challenge any team from outside the top seven to play-off duel, the winner going through to the winners' series play offs and the losers joining all the unchallenged teams in a repechage, to determine six of the best second best and together with the four lowest ranking teams from the series winners to go through to super series of seven extra match ties with for and against goal difference the determining element of a sudden death golden points bonus, with the best three playing one-off games at a neutral venue to see who goes thorugh to grand final against Bolton, who get a three-nil lead.

I think it's obvious who the leakers are, it's Hamer and Ken Masters. Thought I'd say it before 1981 and LJG. After all, they are supposed to be leaking stuff to everyone all the time. Mind you, if it's someone above and beyond the players, who does that leave? Find a single one of my posts that says or even implies that Hamer or Ken Masters have ever leaked anything and post it in the reply to this post. When you can't, I'll accept your retraction of that statement. Or do you want me to call you a liar first?

What boardroom ? One is ill and other is in Jordan

Maybe a player passed it on yo his agent for advice going forward, and the agent leaked it ?

Maybe a player passed it on yo his agent for advice going forward, and the agent leaked it ? Would make sense. A player shouldn't really be voting on this sort of thing without consulting his agent, in any case.

The players out of contract must be in pretty desperate situations, particularly in league one and two where the pay is nothing like that of the championship and prem. Where will their next pay cheque come from after their contract runs out?

Maybe a player passed it on yo his agent for advice going forward, and the agent leaked it ? Fair point, you can’t blame a player for doing that. But then it’s the agent who has let his player down by extension by passing it on further.

It sounded to me like 3 up and no relegation which would be evened out by double the relegation spots in the season when football resumes. I guess the cups would be dropped to allow for the extra fixtures generated by 3 additional teams per league. It sounded to me as follows for next season Teams in each division Premiership 23 Championship 24 League 1 24 League 2 21 I would surprised if there were 45 full time professional football clubs able to fill the L1&2 slots come next year.

It'll only be the prem with extra leagues - every other league will be losing the promoted teams so it balances out. Question is what happens with Conference as that will dictate how many l2 will end up with. It's weird when you think about l1 too given the Bury situation. Prem 20 +3 = 23 Champ 24 -3 promoted to prem +3 from l1 = 24 L1 23 -3 promoted to champ, +3 from l2 = 23 l2 24 -3 promoted to l1 +?? conference? Anything between 21 and 24. In which case each year you do an extra relegation until normality is resumed. There are only 22 teams in L1 (no Bury) so 4 will come up from L2 presumably?

I’d be pleasantly surprised if the premier league agreed to this. The prima donnas complain enough about having to play 20 games + cup competitions. Not too much change for us then other than the return of Swindon, Argyle and Crewe. Can’t see Cheltenham agreeing to this when they’ve got a game in hand and they’ll be 1 point off automatics. Not sure how league 2 teams would feel about missing 3 home games worth of revenue too, unless they can get teams up from the conference. I have a sneaking suspicion that while coronavirus is still fresh in the memory the players and the likes of Klopp will just be glad to have a job to come back to. If you offered Klopp the chance to go back to normality and play two games in two nights with different squads the last thing on his mind would be bitching about the toll on the players.
