Smash and Grab at Brighton Cureton at Reading Ansi at Plymouth in the Cup Junior against Yeovil, he was unplayable that night him against 4 or 5 defenders! :awesome:

Michael Meakers debut, thought we had signed a gem. Steve Phillips v Rochdale in Jan 2007 - Got battered and went away with a win at a crucial time....and we know how that season finished!!

Ellington at Derby is one that sticks out for me. Also Steve Yates keeping Andy Cole in his back pocket at Twerton was a masterclass in defending.

Steve Kindon playing for Wolves against us at Eastville when they hammered us 1-5.
I spoke to him about that performance several years ago and although it has always stayed with me he couldn't remember it at all.

Timmy carter at trashton when gary smart hit the superb winner. If they had thrown a kitchen sink at him that day he would of tipped it around the post. 10/10.

Ray Houghton for Liverpool at Anfield in the cup.
Everyone was raving about Liverpool's attacking play, MacManaman in particular but Houghtons passing and movement both on and off the ball created so much space for the wide players it was a joy to watch. A very much unsung part of that team.

Mustapha Carayol in the 7-1 against Burton. Eliot Richards scored a hat-trick but Carayol was on fire that day. He kept switching wings and tore both of their full-backs apart.

Lomanar LuaLua turn of the century home v Colchester United.
Was substituted to a standing ovation from large parts of home Mem crowd (myself included) because he turned us ragged.
He done much the same in corresponding match over there when we were winning by a mile and lost 5-4 (or was it 4-3!??).
Not many away players have been applauded by us without having some connection with the club prior..

And what an atmosphere..? Funny though, because I watched it again recently and the highlights show our Keeps was unsung hero that night....made a few blinding saves

I remember Lua Lua coming on as a sub at the Mem, from the moment he entered the field of play, we never touched the ball.

What about Lee Mansell in the 130th minute (about) at Wembley in May 2015? Or Rickie Lambert in Feb 07 against the **** to take us to The Millenium Stadium. Great performances and both meant so much. But yes, in the context of the OP perhaps not. Then I’ll go for Smash and Grab at Brighton in December 1973. UTG!

Rovers played Bradford City at home Nov '70-'71. Harold Jarman was brilliant and scored a hat-trick in a 4-2 win - two with his head! And a Paul Randall goal v Cardiff City at Eastville Jan '79. He put the ball past one defender and went the other way past him and then beat a second defender to that ball before slotting home. A crucial third goal in a 3-2 win.

Lockyer vs Portsmouth last season. Quite remarkable performance in the face of the hostility.
So good he had a bottle thrown at him.

JCR was very similar too... until he signed for a sh!te of a club!
