It has been Liberal or Tory here for as long as I can remember, other than Dan Norris a few years back when Blair swept to power. I may be wrong of course because I am only going from memory. Norris was Wansdyke I think . North Somerset has always had Liam bloody Fox Ah, you could be correct. Pretty sure there were some very good Lib Dems when I was in my teens here? (Paddy Ashdown era) Again, I am too lazy to Google it.

Thank god. so again…… no brownie points to you . Are they reversing back to a more moderate view? Yes. Did I say they would start off blustering and backtrack? Yes. You just won't accept that what I said might possibly be true because it would make you look silly. Just acknowledge it.

Wonder which 4 seats the Conservatives would retain? Drip, drip, drip. New PM and Chancellor by December? Big weekend coming up I think. Can they dig themselves out of the huge hole they find themselves in?

Kwarteng second shortest-serving UK chancellor It means Kwarteng is the second shortest-serving UK chancellor on record.
The shortest serving chancellor, Iain Macleod, died of a heart attack 30 days after taking the job in 1970.
Since 2019, the UK has had four chancellors, including Nadhim Zahawi who served the third shortest tenure with 63 days during a short-lived reshuffle under Boris Johnson, and Sajid Javid who served 204 days - the fourth shortest tenure on record.

Surely there can't be anything other than a General Election in the near future
The Tories must no there is nothing they can do to win a GE in 1 month or 18 months (if they could stagger that far)
Surely time to take their lumps and regroup
