All praise to Wael, we should name the training ground after him and his family for making this happen. He seems to be a very modest man. I actually think he might find that a bit embarrassing, although I appreciate the sentiment.

The latest tweet from AlmondsburyGas shows that construction of the clubhouse is underway. It's all going Wael now, it's a breeze. It's a "breeze" block presumably the inner wall ( as planning was sought for brick wall outer skin. still waiting approval?) showing in the photo. The tank is a Septic tank still to be placed below ground to take sewage from the buildings showers, toilets and kitchen etc. UTG

2 is ok for the first team. When we want the youth team to train at the same venue, we will need more though. Eventually they want all the squads to train at the same venue. This is great for our first team though and a good start. Yeah, I think that was Liverpool's plan, too. Their senior training ground was too small for the youth squads, so they had to move the senior squad to the academy centre. I notice Man City's training ground is called 'AON Training Complex'. I heard the teds' new training facility is going to be called 'Superiority Complex'. The teds' new facility would be more appropriately named 'Oedipus Complex'.

Dropped by today to see progress. Surprised that, at 2.40 pm in the afternoon, a full training session was taking place. Stopped to watch from the gate. Two guys, Hanlan and Ayunga I assume, were doing exercises near the gate. They jogged off and the guy superintending them moved towards me and said was I alright. I said yes. Then he said "you'd better move on, gaffer doesn't like people watching training." So I did. (Not much visible progress on the facilities - clubhouse hasn't got far.)

I suppose BG will be getting in a few extra training sessions with no midweek game, good to see. Next time bluegas, don’t wear your Fleetwood jacket, you might be ok then. 😉 UTG!

Funnily enough I was wearing my Rovers top with Rovers badge very prominent. And my accent is pretty local. BTW - there was a curious scaffold tower in the middle in photos taken weeks ago. It's purpose is now obvious - guy stands on platform atop it filming everything.

Players will need to step up in preparation, and what’s expected of them. I guess the stats and analysis will be getting more and more important. No crafty fags behind the dressing rooms now!! 😉 More seriously, I hope that doesn’t mean the club taking itself too seriously and stopping genuine, local fans from taking an interest. After all, everyone’s waited many, many years for something like this. UTG!

I had to give my son a lift to work in Patchway quite early. As Trench Lane and Perrin pit Lane are closed, I passed the Quarters again. Noticed two guys out, at about 8.15, mowing the grass. In preparation for the day's training session. I wonder what time that started? Certainly putting the work in.

Wonderful to see this added level of professionalism going into the club. This is going to reap rewards for us in the long term.
