Might pop up there myself in a few days to have a look. One of the most exciting projects in the history of our club.

The quarters are getting more visitors than the zoo

Let's hope that the club can hold the open day there in the Summer.

They’ll want people in the shop spending ££££ I'm sure Tom Gorringe could organise a marquee or two and a van to get the stock there. Financial suicide not I would suggest, far better than the tip that is the Mem, especially on a Summers day, gods obliging. Feel sure the turnout would be in excess of what would go to the Mem, I for one would travel to have a nose and spend a few bob.

Respect to AlmondsburyGas for taking his lunchtime walk when it's freezing cold.

The Mem even though it’s a dump is far more accessible and better set for the fun day than the quarters.

It would be a good opportunity for the club to show off the training ground to its supporters who I would suggest would turn out in large numbers to see it and the club could use it as an opportunity to add to the coffers. It's location is far from the back of beyond and easily reached by car and easy walking distance from the bus route on the A38. A few portaloos hired for a day would not cost a fortune and with us hopefully coming out of covid restrictions a nice open air environment that is far more pleasant environment for a day out for families etc.

Where are all these people going to park? The fun day can have at anyone point around 1,000 people there. Not sure if you’ve been to the quarters but it doesn’t have the parking for anywhere near that amount of people. The shop has hundreds of lines that you couldn’t transfer to the training ground, there are also various stalls set out by other people who you’d assume pay rent for the day. It’s a nice idea but it is not practical. I would suggest the club may do something different with the training ground, the fun day however has numerous attractions on show as well as bar sales. It’s much more profitable at the Mem than it will ever be at the quarters.

I have been there and a far bigger area to the left of the gate not being developed yet, to park on than the small carpark at the Mem. I think we will have to beg to differ if you think there is not enough room for all the paraphernalia that goes with a fun day. Remember we will still be coming out of covid and the indoor bars at the Mem are hardly appealing on that count.

I can picture the carnage now with Daryle the head groundsman patrolling the edge of the pitches on his shiny new tractor yelling “keep off the grass you little *******!”

Is it not possible to do both: a usual Mem do, and a Quarters visit, on different days?

Is it not possible to do both: a usual Mem do, and a Quarters visit, on different days? I agree that it would be great to do something there when finished but think parking and traffic would be a nightmare for a big fun day as access is limited (may be wrong though as only had two fleeting visits on my occasional Leicester - Devon run). Perhaps something smaller though with a set number of tickets (open training session / shirt signings etc.)? I’m sure TG is already one step ahead and thinking about this ...

In fairness not even the players are allowed to train there as they would under normal circumstances as it currently stands. Can you see the 21/22 season starting off as it ordinarily would? I can’t. The fun day iOS surely the last thing on the clubs mind.

Strange how for years the gov have been paying to exterminate badgers en masse . Now we are protecting them...
