That's not strictly true. The Quarters is owned by a separate company to Bristol Rovers although both have the same owners just the same as Geoff Dunford owning Bristol Rovers and The Beeches when we trained there. Owned by Dwayne sports int it? No doubt they’ll sell it, recoup the profits and do a runner when the loose change in Waels money jar runs out. You dont get honest, loyal supporters like Geoff as owners any more. No, you don't. Very sadly the way the game has gone since the 1990s makes that very difficult unless said honest, loyal supporter/owner is very rich. The only one around here plumped for the other lot. Get real, it's life, move on.

A small shed for a gym, a couple of pitches and a clubhouse designed 20 years ago that is smaller than most peoples living rooms? Yet people lap it up? How disappointing. They were probably better off where they were, at least the gym they were using although not ours wasnt a total embarrassment. Just imagine what the Sh1!heads think. Blimey that win yesterday has really watered you off hasnt it? Sprung into life all of a sudden....

So what would make you happy bearing in mind we are a struggling League 1 club. Why should the owner pump millions of his money. I am not sure many would with football and the economy being such a precarious state. Well done to Wael for his commitment to the evolution of the club, it hasn't all been plain sailing but he has stuck with us. You just need to read his latest open letter to the fans to see that

The gym is 20m by 8m, perfectly adequate for the number of users. The clubhouse has internal area of about 420 square metres. The average UK house has a total floor area of around 100 square metres (total for both floors). You must have much wealthier friends than I do if they have larger living rooms than that. The exterior of the clubhouse may have the same exterior proportions as an older design, but the inside, which is the important bit, has been redesigned.

You dont get honest, loyal supporters like Geoff as owners any more. There’s not much chance of selling The Quarters at a profit. It’s position in the green belt means it has no value other than as a training ground. As all the other professional sports clubs in the area already own their own practice facilities, the market is vanishingly small. The purchase price plus the current investment in it, is probably comfortably over £3m. No-one is likely to value it at anywhere near that, given its legal use.

So, Yesterday i was lucky enough to have a personal tour with Wael and the project manager of the training ground and the facilities under construction. Its all very impressive and well thought out. Pitches are fantastic, Clubhouse is really coming on with internal fit out due to commence shortly. The resoviour and borehole are complete and all linked to a complex drainage network . The Gym is excellent with great quality equiptment - all brand new !! So overall a mssive step forward for the club and really brings us into the 21st Cent. Remember this is still only Phase 1 so more to come over time Wael was extremley passionate about the project and i am hugely grateful for the oppurtunity to visit

Do you really care what that lot think? Go and have a look on OTIB and come back and tell us what they're saying if your really that worried. When was the last time the club had it's own training ground and facilities and all you can do is complain about it and worry what the sh1theads think.
