Probably. The staff will have made an annual plan of works they wish and need to do on the pitches to ensure they are healthy and good surfaces to use. It might seem soon for maintenance, but the alternative is leaving it to next summer and thats to long. Wasn't it seeded last summer? If so, I guess it's not too soon but it seems another big expense to replace the playing surface every season. Particularly when it seems to have had zero effect on our ability to play football improving. The training pitches will have alot more use every season than the Mem pitch so to keep it up to standard it will have to be done each year.

I remember the groundsman saying why either a year or 2 back but it’s more to do with what goes on underneath the grass. For it to have a strong root and get through the winter the prep of the base is what really counts. That gets compacted through the season so if they left it, it would compact again then it wouldn’t drain properly, would get cut up and then it’s unrecoverable going into the following spring.

Top surface removed from the pitches and dumped elsewhere. New layer of sand-like material put down. Club house decorators in.

My memory of it when I went and had a nosey was that it was a country lane.

I also assume footfall in the direction of the training ground will increase once it's fully in use.

There is a footpath on the same side as the training ground alongside the newish housing estate built on the old hospital site. Condition 17 of the planning permission that the clubhouse was built under, requires a 2m footpath from the junction with Woodlands Lane (the narrow road at the side of the site) to the main entrance. At some points the front fence is less than 2m from the road, so presumably it will have to be moved.

Would of thought the road would be widened to accommodate dreamers in Beamers and Burke's in Mercs!

They put it in the wrong bloody place 😂

The newly planted grass is growing /showing already. Just as well as there is little else going on on site.

Get TG to stick a 4 hour video of it on YouTube with a bird song soundtrack (not robins, obviously) and market it as a BRFC wellbeing initiative.

Pitches look nice but that red brick building looks a bit local clubhouse. Id expect a much more futuristic and aesthetic looking design from a football club in 2021. Where's the branding? Looks like anyone could train there not the home of BRFC. Hmm not overly impressed tbh.
