EFL Hub also stated Jamie Reid from Torquay was a potential signing -- Went to Mansfield Town.

I can't see us signing both Ehmer and Baldwin TBH. Grant's hopefully a done deal or he'd have gone back to Plymouth, although not sure why it's not been announced when Chelsea have confirmed he's departed. So was that a yes or no? 😂 Grant & Ehmer yes, just Grant no.

Out of interest, if the 3 players frost has actually said we are imminently signing do join us, will there be a line of people waiting to apologise to a man just doing his job or is that not how this works? Yes I will apologise just as I did when wael started to come up trumps last month

Whats to apologise for ? … Its all speculation until the Club announce something . Trying to have some light hearted fun … as I said if he gets 1 in 3 correct I think he will have done well. So far … Ten names linked and no one yet over the line that we know about. Will change soon I'm sure.

Sam Frost has repeated again today in his Kilgour article Ehmer and co are still due to sign, however, Steven Evans seems of the view he wants to stay at the Gills: Evans said: “Max told me himself that Bristol Rovers have shown an interest but I think Max Ehmer would like to stay at Gillingham. I think he will be waiting to see what is said by the EFL about when the season is starting, whether we can come to a deal with him. www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/sport/gills-waiting-on-a-start-date-229598/

Sam Frost thinks Max is coming to the Rovers, Steven Evans thinks the player will stay at the Gills - we shall see. Personally I think Steven Evans is far more likely to have an understanding of the players mind. Whatever I feel the club should not be talking to the EP about potential signings, and only talk about confirmed signings

Over to Sam Frost to now tell us tomorrow he won't be signing, even though he probably never really had any intention to sign in the first place.

When he announced that he had left, the report said that Mansfield came in at the last minute for him - to save face maybe? Well in the latest Q&A , he mentions that Mansfield came in for him last weekend - a few days before this all unfolded. Tells me just how ITK they really aren’t.

Well the EP indicates the signings are imminent suggesting at least off the record info is being passed on. Personally I think the club should cut out the chain of communication to the EP until deals are ratified as done and dusted .

Given SF was suggesting that work on the training ground wasn't starting even the day before the club announced it was then why do you think they'd feed him any transfer news? If Ehmer was about to sign for us then I'm sure Evans would already be suggesting he'd lined up a better replacement, not suggesting he still hoped that he'd be able to agree a new contract.

The EP gets no information from the club, its all bits and pieces they obtain from other clubs, agents or crap like the EFL hub. last weeks article "The truth about the fruit market" or something along those lines. There was nothing not already known in that piece just rehashed in a different format.

A couple of days ago SF said the club is still confident of signing the player, even after the Gills manager said that Max wanted to stay. How did SF know the club was confident, unless someone told him. The club was better at keeping the training ground development quiet until the start date was reached, obviously the same internal people were not in the loop.

If he has got a source it could well be the players own agents leaking info to push up the players bargain powers.

If he has got a source it could well be the players own agents leaking info to push up the players bargain powers. If SF is just posting complete nonsense it would suggest at the very least the EP is allowing unethical journalism. My belief is that there is no unethical journalism here, and that info on targets has come from within the club. This is I feel is a potential problem, far better for the club to talk to the press about confirmed deals, rather than initiate a media feeding frenzy over offers to targets which can alert others clubs to try and hijack our deals with counter offers. We live in a world where everybody tries to get ahead of the story, I hope Max comes to our club but he has to make a decision that is right for his family, if he comes here that is the time for the club to inform the EP.
