Cannot get my head around clubs in lower leagues signing players without knowing when crowds will be allowed into matches. I get extending contracts of young players already at the club but how can a club justify signing players without having any idea what your income will be?

But it isn't just footfall on match day that creates the income. For those that have better stadiums (most other clubs) there is all the non match day revenue, there's also gifting from owners and sponsorship etc... costs will in theory be reduced as they won't need to pay policing or stewarding, reduction in drinks such as beers, ciders and also reduction in food and casual staff costs.... So whilst they won't know what the final figure will be, they probably do know a certain threshold limit they can go to with a view of it increasing as spectator return plans are worked through

Why would the club leak information 2 to Bristol post Sell season tickets, however very possible it is not a deliberate policy at all maybe just a leak, whatever it is not helpful to team strengthening. Get the deal completed first and then discuss with the official press.

These often go better if you’ve managed to acquire an exciting signing or two. It is no accident that new arrivals squad numbers are usually revealed on the day they sign.

We already have two left backs (with first team experience) under contract, I assume if BH signs he will very likely be first choice. Very likely one of our current left backs will be loaned out or moved on.

The likes of Gillingham & Walsall don't appear to be, although we haven't actually signed any new players, it just seems like we have by the endless names being mentioned by SF, we must be due a new name this soon from him? Mansfield, and FGR?, seem the only team signing players and they could catch a cold if the EFL do ever impose a wage budget.

Apologies for posting a @efl-hub rumour but thought this was an interesting one given Steve Evans was apparently arranging Zoom meetings with potential signings to day:

There's zero chance of us outbidding Pompey for one of their players. www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/pompey-retained-list-summer-2020/

Isn’t a fee though - would be compensation as he’s out of contract and it’s the development compensation because of his age which will be minimal.... reason Kilmarnock would pay less is because it’s different FAs and rules (I think?)
