Lots of changes recently. We look forward to a different and entertaining style this season but will it be ultimately successful. We can certainly dream and some like me remain hopeful. I certainly expect playoffs/top ten as a minimum security goal. Where do we think we will finish this year?

Back on the bus - great stuff Rich. But no choice less than top ten? Adminstration = 12 points deduction TOTALLY ruled out?!

If I’m honest the realistic goal is top 10, which would constitute a much better season than the last 3.
Would love a crack at the playoffs but it’s a tough league next year and Garner will have to prove a lot of doubters wrong.

Lots of positivity at the moment, perhaps more so than the usual pre season feelings that fans of many clubs get for a new campaign.
I'd settle for top half but I do get the impression a play off push is the unspoken target.

I'd be dissapointed if we did not finish in the playoffs, I'd be really dissapointed if we finish around 10th, id be suicidal if we got relegated

I think we are more likely to be 11th. We certainly wont win any in the first 3 or so. We never do!
Firstly I think Wigan will win it. (I think a sense of injustice will propel them). Sunderland, Fleetwood, Perterboro, Portsmouth, Oxford. Maybe Hull or Charlton. So, just outside the top 10

Tough league this year but the additions we've made suggest play-offs are a realistic target.

Personality whilst I'm extremely positive that we'll have a much better season, we'd do need to hope that the new faces all gel immediately and the team buys into the new style and adapts to get us off to a good start. There are some big teams this year so I agree with axegas that I think the realistic target is top 10/playoffs ..... the security for me is mid table stability and groundbreaking would be champions/automatic. .... I think and hope it's playoffs for us

Still some big questions to be asked around our manager.
Our signings look very good in paper but that’s worth nothing if the main man can’t arrange and motivate them in a way that is conducive to success. Especially when many of them are youngsters that aren’t quite the finished article
I wouldn’t want to make a guess on how well do this season.

Our manager has never won an away game.

Our manager has never won an away game. Yes that is true, but how many times have you posted that now? We get it! Feet on the ground, still lots of unknowns, and Garner has a lot to prove. The signs from this summer are promising though.

We are in the midst of a global pandemic, and heading into a season of uncertainty, where many clubs may have to make hard decisions with their squads and budgets. We are very lucky to be financially secure and the manager backed so strongly - the signings we have made are on-paper very good.
No one really knows how this season is going to go, and given Garner's in the dawn of his managerial career, and our squad is overall very young and inexperienced, I think a top ten finish would be pretty damn good. For me, I'm looking for an improvement on last year, our young players to develop, and the squad to play an entertaining brand of football whilst winning games.
People will say we should always aim for promotion and playoffs should be the aim - sure, but given all that's going on I think a lot can be said for stability, so long as we improve and don't stand still.

The signs from this summer are promising though. I just find the "minimum playoffs" chat utterly bizarre. Let's walk before we can run here. As I've said in another thread Garner really does have a lot to prove, the statistics he currently has next to him have him as the second worst permanent appointment in our history with regards to PPG and win percentage. This is his team, he has no excuses now. We'll see but I think playoffs as a minimum is very short sighted.

I hope for a decent upper mid table finish, and any better would be a bonus.

Next season in my opinion should be about developing how he's going to go about things. It looks very much my way or the highway at the moment which, to me is interesting to say the least. I think upper midtable would be a decent enough season.

The best players are being sold so I think they could be this season’s Bolton. I’d settle for a top ten finish
