Terrible defending. Too many casual passes going astray. Grant not in game. Westbrook good; Hargreaves weak and losing too many balls. JML looks good; need to get more balls to him. Ipswich going easily through middle.
Little not covering. Gas need to keep the ball more, slow it down.
Not very good so far.

Massive 15 minutes for Garner.
Either inspire them to better or change the system for the second half.
Failure to do either and... well... let's say I won't die of shock.

HT Probably what most have been worried about - being lightweight. We've clearly got better footballers in the team now but getting bullied off the ball may take its toll over the season. 3 centre backs are getting caught by the ball in the channel. I suppose playing this formation that must be something their expecting to defend though. Ipswich have taken the chances given to them but on the balance of play don't deserve to be 2 up IMHO. Can't argue with this ~ BG needs to get a no 9 as will allow JML to create |

We look awful .... Bloody Hell - Nothing up front ... Midfield look disjointed and back three are shocking. Where do we go from here ... Not sure Hargreaves has touched the ball ... Leahy usual headless chicken and Alfie has been dire. If this has taken the whole of preseason to get here, then Garner seriously needs to think again. Don't agree as the biased legend that is Mick Mills said "he has been busy" |

Another wake up call for BG I'm afraid. Ipswich are running through us, the defence don't seem to be marking anyone. For a number of seasons no our defence of not had any protection or a midfield that can hold the ball and give an option for the defenders when in possession - result we drop deeper and just launch it respectively BG has to find a goalscorer/target man that can hold the ball up, and a midfield playmaker that can calm things down and take the ball from the defence. A long and difficult season awaits otherwise Sorry I couldn’t disagree more. We are working on a midfield that is more comfortable on the ball and not afraid to show for a pass. It’s the first game. You can see the parallels though . Do not let score line cloud judgement. We will improve second half. |

Good to get this game in before the league starts. Nice eye opener. With so many new players you can do all the work on the training ground but it takes time to click on the pitch.
Don’t throw the toys out the pram yet fellas. One bad half doesn’t make kilgour a bad player overnight.
6 months of no competitive football. Admittedly it shows but I’ll judge after 15 league games.

Westbrooke must be wondering what he's doing joining us. Looks by far our best footballer. Funny how we all see things differently. I thought Nicholson was our best player in that half. Looked dangerous on the ball, nearly scored. Westbrooke gave it away a few times. Grant and him linked up well once, when Grant had a shot from 25 yards. |

Not a bad half Football wise. Just been caught out defensively and lacklustre up front. Not sure if sarcastic? Not a bad half but we've been sh** in both boxes, great. Nothing sarcastic about it. Everybody knows we need a striker. No real surprise we've been toothless up front. Yes, the 3 at the back have been poor and been caught out, but our general play has been decent, i'm impressed with Westbrooke, Nicholson has been good and I like Grant. The actual Football we played wasn't bad. |

It was Dam awful when we were at the bottom of league 2 and at the start of the conference only a few years ago, have a look at yourself, bar 2 sloppy goals the game was alright maybe a work in progress. |
