Poor first half. We look decent at times on the ball but much left to be desired off it.
Both goals were very disappointing to concede because the first is a result of a mistake from Leahy and Kilgour being massively out of position. The second is the result of not marking the man on a corner, basic stuff really.
I'd get Upson and Ayunga on, give us a bit more purpose and a recognised striker on the pitch. We may as well go for it at this point.

Not surprised at all by the scoreline, It took us something like 38 years to beat Ipswich at home alla last year. No striker so no goals was expected, midfield ok, but the defence having a shocker is dissapointing, looks like BG's Garnerball streak continues.

Good to get this game in before the league starts. Nice eye opener. With so many new players you can do all the work on the training ground but it takes time to click on the pitch. Don’t throw the toys out the pram yet fellas. One bad half doesn’t make kilgour a bad player overnight. 6 months of no competitive football. Admittedly it shows but I’ll judge after 15 league games. The excuse last season was that it wasn't BG's players, now it's because we've so many new players! As far as 6 months w/o football that's the same for Ipswich but apart from Nicholson's chance they've not been half asleep at the back all the first half.

We look utterly f**king awful I'm sorry to say. I so want it to work for Garner but f**k me, he is making it tough to see a reason to think he will come good. It was f**king awful when we were at the bottom of league 2 and at the start of the conference only a few years ago, have a look at yourself, bar 2 sloppy goals the game was alright maybe a work in progress. Glad you are happy with that first half.

Westbrooke must be wondering what he's doing joining us. Looks by far our best footballer. Funny how we all see things differently. I thought Nicholson was our best player in that half. Looked dangerous on the ball, nearly scored. Westbrooke gave it away a few times. Grant and him linked up well once, when Grant had a shot from 25 yards. Nicholson has looked decent enough but Westbrooke just keeps the ball moving and makes it look easy. 1 touch passes etc. Early days but looks a class above will need more steel alongside him though is my worry.

Not as bad as some are making out. Has been a good game of football with two poor goals conceded. Kilgour and Leahy looking poor and Hargreaves for me has not got the control and a bit like Sinclair. Apart from that not too bad. impressed with Nicholson but he should have scored. Commentators are very biased but agree it is game over as we havent got a striker on sight and dont look like scoring really

I'll think I will just see today's result as a Preseason non friendly. Another during the week' before the big kick next week. Then we will begin to see the bigger picture however a proper Striker should be our top priority in the next few days.

I was referring to the performance which does No no no sir. We were not allowed to be negative about a poor performance in preseason. So you dont get to be positive about a good one. I didnt make the rules.

Shocking at back today and not much up top. Let’s see what a BG halftime roasting can do 🤔 This could be a massacre Ipswich clearly superior, our back three not properly set up - ME should be in the central position, AK should on the right side, JB should be on the bench and CH on the left. The attack is pretty much non existent, the manager needs to change things my worry is that he can't see it because his his head is stuck up Einstein's backside, his tippy tap way of playing is more suited to subbuteo than real football.

lol first game and first half and we sold our striker with no time to replace Posh replaced their main striker 24 hours BEFORE he left. We've had plenty of time. We signed a certain Ricky Lambert in less than 24 hours. No striker is a fair enough excuse - timescales aren't I'm afraid.

What about the other chances Ipswich missed/JVS saved? We looked poor against a team apparently in turmoil, just as well we didn't start off against a top 6 side. If we don't improve then this could easily be a 4 or 5-0 rout if Ipswich decide to start playing a bit.

Not sure if sarcastic? Not a bad half but we've been sh** in both boxes, great. Nothing sarcastic about it. Everybody knows we need a striker. No real surprise we've been toothless up front. Yes, the 3 at the back have been poor and been caught out, but our general play has been decent, i'm impressed with Westbrooke, Nicholson has been good and I like Grant. The actual Football we played wasn't bad. I know what you're trying to say but if we're sh** in both boxes then the football played is irrelavent.

Surprised Harries is sat on the bench watching Kilgour looking like a little boy lost on the left.

Paid my tenner and it’s been easy. I went straight in on Safari through the Rovers website. The only thing is listening to Radio Suffolk, the commentators ok but Mick Mills is boring, usually wrong and very biased. But if that’s all I’ll put up with it. Very good coverage so far, fingers crossed.
As to the play, Hargreaves and Nicholson the pick so far. Zain W looks very comfortable and if he had some targets up front we’d be better. Both goals came from gaps on the right and then the left and the corner that resulted. Baldwin looks the pick of our CHs,more comfortable with Kilgour and Ehmer being picked off. Their strengths look to be coming from the wings and were not cutting that out. Hope the second half with have us posing a few more problems in the final third. UTG!
