I swear people have selective memory..... it's been said that the reason Bennett and Ogogo have been told they are not part of the plans going forward is because of financial reasons and style of play. Neither have been given a squad number because if they were then their wages would count towards the playing budget and as both are extremely high earners for league 1, we would reach or exceed the cap. We have a choice - add them to the squad and have no flex in the winter transfer window or to get in another striker or leave them out as we have and have that flexibility. All contracts signed prior to the wage cap introduction would be capped at £1300 a week. So it doesn't really matter how much Bennett/Ogogo earn in terms of counting towards the overall salary cap: " Any contracts signed before today's vote will be capped at an agreed average figure of £1,300 per week, which is likely to be less than contracts awarded to senior players."

True but it was said that the weren’t given a squad number so they wouldn’t count towards the restrictions in place - maybe it was to do with wage and number of players or something. But I do think there was a valid reason given and if we were to suddenly put Ogogo in then it would create non playing problems with the restrictions
