Strange because the `bbc website said Oxford won on penalties. So they won, but we never lost how strange. It's the stupid rules of the competition and you don't seem to get it. The match finished as a draw. Ergo, we didn't lose. Oxford won the penalty shootout and thus won a bonus point. They did not win the match. So although we won the penalty shoot out at Wembley we did not win the match and did not get promoted back to the football league. Thanks for that I had a sneaking suspicion it was all a dream.

Rose tinted specs I think - Kelly and Kilgour were dreadful,Leahy not much better and we are desperately short of strikers. We missed at least 3 golden opportunities. I am not saying it was a bad performance but we miss the easiest chances. Daley doesn't have a goal in him. I'm not sure why we persist with Kelly - Was hugely surprised he was given a new deal. Von Schittenshotten is equally no way near good enough - Someone truly needs to tell him that in a penalty shoot out the aim is to stop the ball and not dodge it ( appreciate he did stop one tonight but dived out of the way of four others) ... his overall keeping is erratic and his shot stopping not great either. Poor Alfie is missing Coughlan I think - A real Defensive Mentor - Maybe he also has a touch of 'Gaffney Syndrome' ( where a player is told he is so so good way too early and he starts to believe the hype, in the Case of Gaffney he was worshipped to the brink of having Fans offer their wives to him and in song form at that ) I feel a little for Daley as he needs a Striker to work with, not play on his own - he will fail if not given proper support and very soon the Twatter / Facefook Boo Boys will be all over him. Expected a bit more from Nicholson to be honest and surprised JML nowhere to be seen as the game could have been made for him and a confidence boost for Saturday. So your advice is: - don't not save penalties even when you do; - don't praise or sing songs about players, it gives them ideas and the daydreams put them off their game ... forever; and - Daley shouldn't check his Facebook. Anything else?

We didn't lose because we drew, but we lost a penalty shoot out that means we still drew, we just didn't get a bonus point because we didn't win. So we got a point for not losing or winning, because we drew, even though we lost the game.

So ...

I thought that was a very entertaining game. I think we played well tonight and really should of won the game after 90 minutes. Mehew impressed me again and I think we could have a good player on our hands. I do feel a little frustrated that we have brought a player in on loan who seems very similar to Mehew and having him on loan will possibly mean Mehew’s game time will be hampered this season. Maybe the management feel he isn’t quite ready for competitive first team action just yet. Does look promising though. I can see people’s point on that it shows we need more goal scoring options up front. I think an experienced striker would suit us best and could also help develop the young players we have here. Easter type player would be good. Whilst I don’t think Kilgour did much wrong tonight I do also feel he is lacking in some of the confidence he showed last season. It could be down to the fact he is still a young man with a lot still to learn in the game which we forget due to his performances last season. Maybe some time out of the team will do him good. We know how good he can be so I don’t want to be overly critical and hopefully a little rest can get him back to his best.

Moving on. I can't understand how we got 4 goalies . 11 defenders with good experience 11 midfielders with good experience and 3 strikers .
Surely if we sign an experienced striker . The strength we have in other departments will push us on to a mid table side .
How many more midfielders do we need ? .

I completely agree, we do not need any more midfielders at the moment in my view. We certainly do need another striker to support Hanlan, Ayunga and Daly.

So ... I get it! It's just like bargain hunt, we don't have losers, just winners and runners up! Well, no. Because in Bargain Hunt if they don't win they don't get awarded anything that might help them going forward in the competition because there isn't any going forward in the competition they just go home I think. Whereas this is a group stage of a football trophy where you accrue points (differing amounts for different outcomes - zero if you lose, one for a draw, three for a win and one for winning a penalty shootout following a draw) and that can be helpful when those points get added up at the end because it might mean you go through to the next round. Do you play scrabble but complain all the way through that you want to be the hat or the little dog?

Don't forget Walker 😉 More of an impact sub for the last 15 mins or so, we do seem to be lacking another striker, although perhaps we need to move KB or AO, or both, off the wage bill before we can bring in another striker. Game wise I thought we most out played a strong Oxford side tonight, BG seems to be finally getting the players to play the football he wants them to play.

It ain’t a draw it ain’t a loss but it certainly isn’t a win. It’s half way between a loss and a draw. No point arguing about the semantics of it.
The important thing is we didn’t get that extra point so we have to work that much harder against the Chelsea Under 21s.

Strange because the `bbc website said Oxford won on penalties. So they won, but we never lost how strange. So you get a point for losing how strange always though you got 0 points for losing. Just to weigh in with yet another opinion on the matter.... We took home less points than the other team... I'm pretty sure you get the same amount of points for a draw. A draw after 90 minutes perhaps... Yet we lost a penalty shootout, and thus the other team got more points than us... I'm struggling how divided this logic has made people. I usually call a win taking more points home 🤷♂️
