Reminds me of that joke, what's the difference between a cactus and the Bristol city team bus? All the pr1*ks are on the outside of a cactus.

I mean ... it's worked though hasn't it? It's been posted on here and I bet, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. They've increased that ad's exposure in one simple move. Yes, but that extra ad exposure as a product is moot, as we are already aware of a team by that name

Glad we aren't sponsored by a betting company this season. It's also quite exploitative as the dimmest Teds will be blowing more of their hard-earned on it, thinking they're striking a blow against the Gas, when really they're just handing more of their money over to some random coorporation that will be laughing all the way to the bank. That’s what I was thinking when I posted. I’m sure the teds will love it and lap it up but really it’s just a marketing ploy to trick them to sign up to a website designed to get people addicted to a game that the betting company wins more often then not.

Maybe we should complain to the EFL about the teds inciting animosity between the fans of the clubs. The media were up in arms after our last meeting and this can only fan the flames of hatred. Personally I wouldn't expect anything less of them. They showed their true colours with Snakegate. Problem is that we all know if there was an official complaint they would just say ' Oh, sorry, nothing to do with us, we just get the posters printed and someone else puts them up'. I think this is one of the VERY FEW occasions where graffiti is acceptable. No More than our promo video (Last season ?) showing somebody running past shitgate towards the holy ground of the mem

When it's fan banter, you kind of expect it with the only one team in Bristol thing. But when it's a company doing it e.g. their sponsor and Bristol City 1882 Ltd its embarrassing. Going from past experience that wont be there long They seem to have a snide, unprofessional element to their corporate, Bristol Sport umbrella company which became apparent during the Taylor transfer and seems to show no sign of abating. Whilst both Bristol club’s managers might act infantile and wind each other up you expect the club owners to have some pride and professionalism and a non-antagonistic relationship of sorts as they are supposed to be the adults in the room. Things like this do get noticed in the corporate world and whilst it might take a long old while I have no doubt that Bristol Sport’s (Men’s football division) PR chicanery will eventually come back to bite them on the ass.

‘One team in Bristol’
But their fan base spend more time talking about us than their own team.

The more online discussion it creates via FB, Twitter and Instagram the more the algorithm picks up that it is being discussed and then starts pushing the photo of that advertisement out to further users. So stuff like people being annoyed and posting it on FB and insta to talk about how annoyed they are by it gives them more market reach. Remember the Gillette "this is what a real man is like" thing? Probably not but anyway they got millions in free advertising from people's annoyance at that. For example- I bet this ends up on Bristol Live or whatever the Evening Post site is called now.

When the Gas Girls returned the promo vid had one of them doing keepy uppies in front of Trashcan. Most people on both sides of the river saw the funny side. Don't see this as different although as it's fixed it'll probably get vandalised pretty quick. For all we know someone got given x amount of posters to put up and done this one for a giggle. Who wouldn't do the same if the boot was on the other foot

What I find amusing is how Bristol Sport are heavily marketing one of their least successful teams as “the only team in Bristol” when they have a rugby club that is competing for the top honour in the English domestic game.
They haven’t really thought that one through...

In fact by showing somebody running past the turds we were actually saying the opposite. There are two teams in Bristol, one plays in blue...the other is sh1t!!
