This kind of sounds like moaning for the sake of moaning. The ref doesn't hand out penalties for free. You need to force your opponent into a mistake in their box. If we got a penalty every game it wouldn't be through luck. It’s not moaning it’s statistics, if we average 2 goals a game, 1 of which is a penalty, what happens when we get denied a blatant pen? Where is the second goal coming from? I’m happy to change my opinion if you can show me a league one side that got penalties in over 50% of their games in any season. We have a number of players who like to play on the front foot and run at defenders, so we are going to get a lot of penalties this season, or goals if a defender bottles a challenge.

Fantastic away performance Hanlan looks a great signing as does Tutonda. Im pleased for Garner as I’ve got nothing against the supporters that wanted him out let’s be honest his record was woeful but I just felt he needed more then 4 games with his new players to gel. So hopefully they have turned a corner UTG.

What a great result and better away day performance, arguably our best away performance under BG.
Notable performances (for me) of Daly, Tutonga, McCormick, Grant, Hanlan and Hare..
Lincoln tried playing the bully boy tactics of tough 3rd division football, mostly our response was to fall down (I'm not saying we were play acting)! We drew many free kicks from this.....Hanlan drawing fouls and at times having three opponents to take him on. He still stayed on his feet through it, so sometimes could only stop him via foul.
A better high tempo match where we pressed more than they did.
Loved the Tutonga showboating shimmy.
I thought the better team won.
Noticeable..... BG after match interview didn't mention a journey? Even though Lincoln (and Sunderland) are further than Ipswich?
BG after match interview didn't mention ref decisions? Having seen the Lincoln penalty appeal in first half, I thought it looked a foul (or else why not book for a dive?). Ref gave us a penalty, but not them. Happy to be proved wrong as only seen it once..
I have to put these points in because it'll get lost in future matches where such excuses may re-emerge.

What I have seen so far this season is how 'dirty' and 'niggly' some of the opposition have been ... Lincoln today, Northampton last week, Sunderland Ipswich were ok but then they were comfortable all game ... Even Doncaster were falling over constantly ... Can anyone confirm or deny please that we have an option on McCormick at the end of his loan spell? Lad is settling in really well, has energy by the bucket load and could be a terrific signing for us. Strange what you say about Ipswich. They had the worst disciplinary record in league one last season.

We won for Cheese sake why can’t you just enjoy your evening rather than posting tripe

Good interview from BG quite humble, praised everyone said it wasn't just him. Things have gone so well this week I was worried he was gonna say he was leaving to go back home.

It was a great win today (as I posted which your post fails to mention), and as I posted reason at the end (which your post fails to mention). I guess if the reason we lost was because of poor referee decision, then logically it can go the other way can't it?

Enjoyed that. Was nervous towards the end and was hoping we'd be playing more in the late stages in their half.Bunny Hare good and another striker will complete the set!!!! Even BG's post match interview was confident and Jim Daly's interview top notch.

If you read my whole post, I give credit to the performance and result. I expect BG to not be disingenuous with his post match excuses. Partly because we don't have the media to say BG you're talking 'tripe' (which is not seen around anymore, one can only wish this was same as BG!). And partly because we couldn't see any tangible change from previous matches. Journey is not an excuse after a month planning for an away match. Ref decisions aren't an excuse either because it happens to every club.

Well done to BG and the team. Credit where credit’s due. A good win and at a good team who were top of the league. Can’t ask any more than that. Great to see some consistency in the performances but we needed results as well, which we are now getting. Great to have a happy Saturday night. UTG!

an away win is a further step forward, no doubt, against a team that is in form and the commentary was full of praise for the defensive work compared to Doncaster so it seems like there has been change. But while there is evidence of defensive improvements I’m still not convinced there are enough goals in this team. Everyone mocks the “Garner needs penalties to win” stat but there is a serious point there- forgive me if I’m wrong but no team has ever had a penalty in every league game of their season. The odd penalty here and there is great but we have to be able to score two goals a game on our own merits from open play yet we’ve had to rely on those penalties more than our own scoring ability. So overall some humble pie for this particular result in isolation, but I’m still very sceptical that the last three games are going to have a positive snow ball effect long term. Elliot Richards used to win us a lot of penalties. People whinged like buggery about Elliot Richards and banged on about "penalties don't count". Then John Ward swapped Elliot Richards for Alan Gow and the rest, as they say, is history. Penalties count. Get over it.

What a strange comment. Last time I checked, goals scored from penalties are worth the same as from open play. Usually penalties are conceded to stop a clear goal scoring opportunity, or by defenders who panic under pressure. Either way you need to give credit to players like Hanlon for his speed in the box, and we will keep getting penalties this season because players like Hanlon and Daly can turn defenders in dangerous areas. That is not somehow lucky as you imply, its skill.

To me it looked like the Lincoln player got in front of our player and stuck his ass out just enough for a bit of contact and fell like a dead duck on contact. The ref was wise to it

I couldn’t care less how the ball goes in the opposition net.
What impressed me today was the fight
If Garner has the players on side and they believe in him we will be fine
I don’t realistically think we will finish top 6 but this season is like no other. No fans has drastically altered the balance in results. You will see more freak scores and who knows, a young hungry bunch may well thrive without added pressure.
If you mix youth with desire and confidence that’s a good starting block
All I dream, Irene, is to see my boys back in the company of all gas heads across the world. Nothing can beat that. 3 points is lovely but not quite the same as currently driving back from Lincoln through the rain.
Still, enjoy gas family. I’ve obviously had a few but still remain positive after 33 years of following this dribble

If we win next week, I wonder what the excuse will be why we were soooo lucky. Hmm.
