Anyone mentioned Gary Penrice? A decent shout from FB, but academy coach again. I would love to see him involved somehow if we can prise him away from Celtic!

Don't the odds go up and down in the first few days after a sacking, like one of our stands in a strong wind?
So pretty meaningless unless you're a soothsayer.

Thats why makes me laugh when fans on twitter start having a meltdown on Twitter cos TW is favourite đ¤Łđ¤Ł
Probably the person we appoint wonât be on that list or if they are they will be seen as an outsider at the moment.
Think the time you know something is about to happen is when one of the names on the list goes from an higher odds to suddenly the favourite.
Always wondered how this happens and weather the news gets out to a few people who then all put some decent money on the name given.
Think it happened with Garner where he was on the list at about 12-14/1 then he suddenely was favourite on the Friday evening and Monday he was named manager.

Odds at the moment are not worth following as the market is weak as there will not be a huge amount of activity. TW is 1/3 because he has been named as caretaker and bookies payout if he is in charge for 10 games so his odds will be short. If a couple of us chucked ÂŁ50 on a 16/1 shot he would soon be a 4/1 shot it dosent take alot to move the price so unless an outsider became the price TW is now then ignore any moves.

Just listened to the EFL podcast with Paul Tisdale, Years ago I would have loved him as our manager then last season at MK Dons made me think like alot of fans have said âhis record in league oneâ wasnât great but even though he isnât my first choice after listening to the interview after a gashead just posted it on Twitter has made me change my mind from âno wayâ to âmaybe we could be the ideal matchâ Interesting on how he got Ollie Watkins to start believing in himself and also does sound like he wanted to be loyal to the players that got him promoted at MK Dons when maybe they werenât good enough for League One and people might say it excuses but does seem like he had an Injury crisis with his 2 new striker signings (Healy and Mason) getting injured at the start of the season and the back up striker then also getting injured caused them to struggle as he states that the most important thing for any teams is the guys at the top end of the pitch. Give it a listen guys, Like I said he is not first choice but if he was one of the people who the board were looking at I would feel more confident now than I did before listening to the podcast. Part 1
Part 2

Part 2Thanks for posting that. A fascinating listen. Like you, I was always an admirer of Tisdale from afar from his time working at Exeter and even before that at Team Bath. Similarly my judgement was slightly clouded by his spell in League One with MK Dons, but listening to that podcast has enlightened me. His life experiences and time in management make him an ideal candidate for where we are as a club. He talks about development a lot and we are in the process of developing the training ground and have a number of young players that need developing that could benefit from his management and experience. The successful development of players like Matt Grimes, Ollie Watkins, Ethan Ampadu, George Friend, David Wheeler, Jayden Stockley amongst others is an impressive list to have on your C.V. Tisdale could he the right man at the right time for both us as a club and him as a manager. These are good reads too: cloud.3dissue.com/6374/7271/131371/issue124/index.html?r=46www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11979890/paul-tisdales-guide-to-scouting-nine-rules-of-recruitmentwww.coachesvoice.com/paul-tisdale-exeter-city/www.coachesvoice.com/paul-tisdale-fa-cup-team-bath/www.paultisdale.com

I canât and donât believe for a moment that the board donât have their eyes on someone. Wael must have had it in his mind for a while that Ben Garner wasnât going to be in the job much longer. For me I think you would only sack a manager so soon after a game because the board had already made their mind up and they have someone in mind to take over. If they didn't I feel they would have let the dust settle, discussed the issue over the weekend and then decided if they wanted to fire BG on the Monday. I would be interested to know what they would have done if we beat Fleetwood? Although I am sure even if were played really well and lost to a last minute dodgy penalty he still would have gone after the game.

Shame Mansfield beat us to Nigel Clough I was thinking the same and that he would be a top candidate but then I saw that he has pretty much spent his entire managerial career in the same part of the country. I doubt he has had to move even once. So it may have taken a bit of convincing.

It was the same at Trashton, when they were looking for a replacement for Johnson. City fans thought Chris Hughton was a done deal, because he was the short price favourite. Didn`t happen. Fortunately.

Like I said I never knew quite how bad the injury crisis hit at MK Dons before his sacking and I know thats not an excuse but to lose your 2 new striker signings with Healy proving there that he was a good signing and Masonâs record not bad what ever club he has been at would have been a struggle. I donât really buy into the motion about managers records at previous clubs, If that was the case Buckle and Atkins would have got us promoted while Gerry Francis would have seen us relegated. Sometimes it just the simple fact that a manager and club join together and it just clicks into place, probably why any appointment is a always a risk and all you can do is carry out the interview process and hope that the person you feel is the best person does turn out to be sucessful.

Without doubt Tisdale is a good manager. A 50% win ratio in his last three full seasons in league Two and 40% overall in his career. Hardly given a fair crack of the whip at MK dons after getting them promoted in his first season there. Then sacked after 11 games in league and Cup with only one win and an injury list as long as your arm in league one. We could do a lot worse than him, although Paul Cook would be my choice if we could afford him.
