So life after BG begins today with a match against the Chelsea U21 team. Win or draw (then beat them on pens) and we progress. Tommy W is in charge managing the team tonight and none of the backroom staff have gone so only one change in the management set up. Last night we heard from MS and TW
Interestingly TW was very adamant that his sole purpose today is to win this match. On that basis I wonder what team he will put out and whether we might see a change of formation to get back to basics in order to win. Kinda excited and I feel we might see 4 at the back today in either a 442 4231 or 433 formation
What do you think?

I can defo see a change of shape. I wouldn't be surprised to see 3 in midfield to cover Westbrookes roaming.
I won't be tuning in tonight due to the boycott, but I'll be interested to hear how TW sets us up and how it works out.

Yeah i wondered if we might see 4-2-3-1 JVS Hare Ehmer Kilgour Tutonda Upson Grant Nicholson Westbrooke Barrett Daly or at 4-4-2 JVS Hare Ehmer Kilgour Tutonda Nicholson Westbrooke Grant Barrett Daly Hanlan Probably need to be careful with Hanlan though so maybe 4-4-1-1 JVS Hare Ehmer Kilgour Tutonda Nicholson Westbrooke Grant JML Barrett Daly That being said its anyone's guess (well TW will know and the players ofc)

JVS Hare Ehmer Kilgour Tutonda Nicholson Westbrooke Grant Barrett Daly Hanlan Something like that with maybe Oztumer and Koiki for Barrett and Daly.

I would like to see a change in formation but I would not be too disappointed if a few players were rested. I think we are taking a big risk playing the likes of Hanlan in these games and I feel like its an injury waiting to happen leaving us very lightweight up front.
Is the Chelsea loanne able to play? Although I would rather see players like Hargreaves and Mehew get another chance. Although I think Mehew played last night so we wont see him.

You know, I could see TW playing a 4-4-2 in this game and why not?
The opposition won't expect it and it hasn't been tried with the team yet. (Maybe in training but I doubt it).
4-3-3 could also be a possibility
You could drop Wesbrook for this game not for criticism, but just to see how the team performs without him in the side? Just a thought.
4-1-3-2
JVS
Hare Kilgour Ehmer Leahy
Upson Barrett Nicholson Westbrooke
Daly Hanlan

I dont think McCormick will be allowed to play and have a feeling Oztuhmer is cup tied so maybe Hargreaves and Barrett will feature

Hanlan is the one I worry most about. With the make up of the squad he is potentially our most valuable player that needs protecting. But.. the way TW talked means that we will likely see him.
I appreciate what he said about the only realistic chance of silverware but I like using these games as an opportunity for the fringe players to push their case. I'd add Walker to the ones you've mentioned too. Although, seen as it is a U21s team, its not that different from reserve games.

Don’t care if this is a Mickey Mouse trophy match I can’t wait to enjoy this one as I haven’t been able to enjoy a Rovers match in a long time. Honestly feel like a shroud has been lifted. Will be making lots of noise in the lounge later.

Would have liked to have seen Mehew play tonight, after his performances in the last two games. But after playing last night, that's highly unlikely.
I expect we will see Liddle make his debut, maybe that's why he's not involved.
I would give Rodman a run out of fit and start Upson etc. Would also start Armstrong in goal as he can't do a lot worse.

So I would go:
Armstrong,
Rodman, Kilgour, Ehlmer, Tutonda, Nicholson, Upson, Liddle, JML Barrett in behind Daly
Although both midfielders are quite defensive I think we would be ok with all the attacking player's around them.

Has anybody here seen Armstrong play? Can't be worse than Van the man.

Unless they changed the rules, I thought player's that were loaned out,can still be involved in this competition? He played for the development squad yesterday, so he's still involved with the squad on some level.

I know Garner said he would go out on loan, but I can't recall him actually going. It says player's on loan at National League clubs, can still play if they have permission. So not sure, if he could have played or not.

So Ogogo - currently Daggers captain - could be recalled to play for Rovers in the Mickey Mouse on a Wednesday night and then back to Essex to play in the National League on Saturday? Bizarre.
