I see sky bet and bet victor have taken down the odds for our next manager and i cant seem to find anyone taking bets on it online, so i can only assume the deal is done. Writing is on the wall. Welcome aboard Paul and I hope you can get this team up the table and prove me wrong 👏👏👏

I just hope Pirate backing Tisdale hasn't cursed him!

MK Dons fan here in peace. When Tisdale joined us we had an Exeter fan warning us of tough times ahead and I thought it fair to do the same for you. I think it is fair to say that the man split the fans in his first season in L2. We had the highest budget in the league but we really struggled to make that count and limped our way to promotion, finishing 3rd with a 1-0 win to send us up on the last day. However, his MO was to get promoted so it was job done. That was enough for a chunk of our fans.
The football we played was not the silky stuff you'd be expecting and was very much route one. We had a big lad up top (Chuks Aneke now at Charlton) who that suited. Once we lost him in L1 we continued to play this style of football with a 5' 8" striker.
The man will infuriate you with his lineups where he tries to over think things to the point that it no longer makes sense. At times we played with 7 defenders on the pitch with a few out of position (along with a couple of defensive midfielders). We also had another incident where he made no subs in a game which we ended up drawing in the dying mins. Very naive to not slow the game down and close it off.
He is also not a fan of loanees and bought a lot of L2 dross in to the club instead. Some we are still struggling to get rid of now.
I'd also expect that you soon become tired of his press conferences which are extremely dull. Even his choice of hat and scarf annoyed lots of fans towards the end.
Towards the end of his tenure with us he could easily hide behind the lack of fit forwards as to why we slipped so far down the league. When they came back we did shoot up the league with a different manager so that could have been the case, we'll never know for sure.
You can probably tell from above that I certainly wasn't a fan. I hated the football and couldn't wait for him to leave. Anyway, good luck for this season. I hope it works out for you and he proves a lot of people wrong.

I’ll take limping to second with a 1-0 win if it gets us to the Championship

I'm not going to lie, those comments from the MK Dons fan are a bit worrying. However, it's also quite worrying how anyone could actually support MK Dons.

Paragraph 4 sounds like DC The whole story sounds like a love child of DC, BG and GC. And I'm not sure how I feel about that! DC style new line up every week GC boring football limping up the league BG 7 defenders out of position Just imagine DC changing the tactics for match, without changing that tactical during the match, and a game of dire football full of out of position defenders! 😬 Thanks dingdong for heading over here!

Someone needs to send this to Starnes & TW - I would if I could. Really underwhelmed if this turns out to be true.

I could imagine there will be young people now that have grown up watching them because their family took them when they were kids. They would surely feel the buzz of being a fan. I can't understand how anyone could feel genuine support, by which I mean the sort of unconditional support that stays with you for life, towards a club that just "pop up" in your local area from having effectively stolen another club.

I think we need to be a bit rational here. This is one MK Dons fan and people are treating it as gospel, it is just their opinion - if you ask an Exeter fan you might get a different opinion. Those who were happy with the appointment need to have a bit more faith (and backbone)!
I'm not massively keen on it but it looks like it is a done deal so we need to support it and get behind him. I hate the idea of a manager coming in and already being on back foot with getting the fans on board. If it's him, lets give him time, let's support what he does and be positive about it. Negativity doesn't help anyone, especially when it stems from one post from one random fan of one team who recently sacked him.

Haha, that’s what I thought, the bastard son of Garner and Coughlan. An uninspiring long ball merchant who loves a defender and over-thinks his formation. All it was missing was how Tisdale loves to quote chapter and verse on how possession is more important than goals. Makes me wonder if the board have actually done their research and watched any MK Dons games under Tisdale or whether they have just fallen for this urban legend that Tisdale sides always play good football. This is Bristol Rovers though so they probably haven’t and they are going to get a shock

It’s quite possible (likely even) that his footballing approach changed based on the conditions at MK Dons or perhaps his own philosophy changed and he felt route one was the way to go. So he’s evolved from good football that eventually failed him at Exeter resulting in relegation and he started giving percentage football a try which brought him some success initially but failed him again. As above I just hope we’ve done our research and not just taken the word on the street that Tisdale is a footballing purist. Perhaps he’ll be told in no uncertain terms that he has to produce good football here

Thanks for taking the time to let us know, much appreciated. Glad to see you didn’t get ridiculed like Walsalls fans were when they warned us about Leahy, which turned out to be mostly true. All the best for the season, apart from against us of course
