No link between the midfield. Although a lack of options you have to give credit to Hanlan and Nicholson. They often create something for themselves!

Kilgour and Harries are real weak links ... it’s little wonder we look shaky at the back. Kilgour is way too desperate in what he is trying to do. Harries is just poor.
Less said about Upson the better ... FFS get him off !

Well so far this is probably the worst 45 minutes of the season. If Swindon were actually good we'd be in trouble here.

I thought he was brought in as a player who can bring the ball out of defence? Yeah seems so, being kind perhaps it’s a young player panicking and trying to shovel it on. I’m only listening so I can’t see if he’s ever presented with any options. What I have seen under Garner the defence doesn’t tend to get much dynamism from the likes of Grant so if the defensive mids are marked up and static then I guess the punt is the next best option. I'm watching it, and can say that he's mainly been launching it under pressure, and as long as he can do that reliably, I wouldn't complain. Better that than fiddling about and giving the ball away. |

Just go back to a back 4 where Ehmer and Kilgour are more natural and comfortable. What does the back 3 actually give us? I think its actually got more to do with the wingbacks. As traditional RB/LBs, Tutonda, Hare & others would be wasted really But when we line up its 5 at the back anyway so they're still being wasted. The 3 at the back looks awkward and it means we're short of a player in midfield or up front. |
