Absolutely no chance. Even if the site was big enough and the infrastructure appropriate, the land would be way too expensive. The land will go for housing.

Can't really conceive of a worse location than that. Agree it would never work and the real estate value is so high as to make it unviable. As for a worse location, there are many: Ashton Court, Greville Smythe Park, Bedminster, Knowle, Brislington.....I think I'll stop there as my Port and Stilton are starting to come back up at the very thought.

If anyone thinks that site will be anything other than glass, chrome and wood cladding hutches for seven figures....

And there I was joshing about it on the other thread!
In all seriousness. A terrible place for us to have a football stadium. Too expensive, restrictions on how we could develop the ground, troublesome neighbours. The local establishments would lock their doors as supporters descended on the ground.

Well, ectually one feels that this would be rather fitting. After all, those football watching types are little short of animals themselves.

Now here’s one for you - can you imagine a new stadium built in Clifton? it’s just been announced that Bristol Zoo at Clifton is being closed and the land sold. The people who run the zoo are relocating to The Wild Place near Cribbs Causeway. So, plenty of land that could accommodate both stadium and a fair size car park! it could never happen of course, but who knows! All comments on this is going to make very interesting reading.

You're having a giraffe ain't you . A stadium in Clifton, someone must be lion the locals couldn't bear it. The council would be batty to seal approval on that.

That land is worth around 100 million quid I would have thought. Even if we could afford it the thought of a football stadium being built there is hilarious and ridiculous in equal measures.

Strategically, and defensively, the old Zoo site would give us the high ground over the Red hoard encampment situated well below amongst the bog's & marshes, we could defend the top of bridge valley road with gusto, so I'm all for it...get it built!.

We could just start playing on the downs instead and save ourselves a few quid

It would appear the market for recreational drugs has been able to continue through lockdown.

No chance and wrong location, this is one that if is put forward..... FAILS Quite agree, now Sneyd Park much better site , all those green open spaces , no demolishing required, plenty of room for a car park, maybe an odd covernant to overcome and planning ofcourse but a much better site than Clifton and has as much chance as Clifton of getting built.

Its already been planned for low impact housing in existing buildings with the gardens remaining largely unchanged.... So that'll be Bristol's first £2m 1 bedroom flat then.... At least, I would imagine.

Funnily enough I was just looking at the map to see if it was feasible. However the chances of the council agreeing it would be zero given their previous level of support. An application for anything on that site going to have a hard time getting agreed, even housing, so a zero chance for a stadium I'm afraid.
