Without knowing who is fit and who isn't it's difficult to call right now. I never subscribe to the thinking that 'they are in the lower league and we are at home so we should win easily' Today isn't the league, it's the Cup so they are on the same level and equal to us and they've also really earned it.
I'm hoping Tis higher tempo will win the day as the FA Cup requires this However Darlington have a psychological advantage and have their side together we don't.
I worry about us not scoring and for this reason I think it will be a tight game. So a draw for me at full time and we win in extra time or penalties. UTG

Having watched Chorley beat Peterborough we should have the warning (if it was needed) that this will be a tough challenge. But we also have an important match against Gillingham next week, so if I was PT I wouldn't risk all our best players today, rather put in some fringe players who are prepared to scrap. Even if he is fit I would leave Hanlan out. Start with Barrett, Liddle, Hargreaves and Walker. Should still be enough to win 2-1.

I have a bad feeling about this one. I have seen nothing for weeks that inspires me to predict anything but a win for Darlington.
I don't even want to watch the game because of my gut feeling but I will watch it in hope that I am wrong and that we don't embarrass ourselves.

Should be straight forward but these games rarely are, firstly we have to match the commitment and work rate of a side who will be busting a gut to cause a shock , once you have done that then eventually superior fitness and technique should see us through, but be warned fail in the first phase and we will fall! We have terrible recent history in these games but the whole club has changed from top to bottom so that should not be a factor, 3-1 gas , but it may take a while !

The only good thing about it being televised is apart from Rovers and Darlo fans, everyone else will be watching S’hampton and United.
It’s a big 1-2 defeat from the Croscombegas prediction panel 😱

UTG It's not like it's our first game of the season the players all should know now each other so just have to sort out the new formation, which must be an improvement on whatever Garner was trying. I assume the players will also be determined to get Tisdale's first win today rather than treating it as just another cup game. |
