Surely Wael got to take some blame? Yeah maybe. But he just cleared £24mn of debt or whatever it was (help me out ITKs) so it feels wrong to slam him for it. As Wael is funding it he’s the one who gets cut the most slack, but it has to be said that since Coughlan left the decision making at this club has been brutally poor in every respect with regards to the footballing side, even if it has been done with the best of intentions. Appointing Garner with no previous experience was the very start and then the backing he got with what seems to be no real oversight is just staggering. It’s left us with a fair few players we won’t be able to get rid of in January when we’ll need to make wholesale changes if we want to stay up. Whether we want to stay up or even can afford to stay up after the the summer we’ve had is another question. |

Can we just get rid of wing backs, they do more damage than they do good, what happened to the old solid 4 at the back with the occasional overlap?

I didn’t think we were that bad tonight, it was a fairly even game that on another day might have ended as a draw. Two lapses of concentration ultimately punished us, the first goal in particular was very frustrating to concede. The real achilles heel of this team is that they don’t create or score enough goals, we’ve scored the 2nd least amount of goals in L1, managing to score only 1 more than strugglers Wigan. Hanlan’s a very decent footballer but I’m yet to see evidence that he’s got the final product to turn him into a good league one striker, he’s only scored one goal from open play in the league so far this season. Same goes for Nicholson and Oztumer, I’ve been impressed by their technical ability but they haven’t chipped in with enough goals so far to get us into games when either Hanlan/Daly hasn’t scored. I think Tisdale has a decent squad to work with but we’ll continue to struggle unless we fix our problems in front of goal. But we knowingly bought players who we knew couldn’t score goals. Surely someone at some point in the food chain at the club thought to themselves “now hang on a minute, where’d the goals here?”. Oztumer, a midfielder, is the only one who has proved he can hit the net with regularity at league level. It’s all well and good saying the squad would be great if we could score goals, but we knew from the start that this was the case. I can’t get over how we then went ahead with recruiting endless left sided players. The biggest thing we did wrong was to not sign a 4th striker, preferably someone with good football league experience that has a consistent track record for scoring goals at the clubs he’s played at. Today, Hanlan was crying out for another striker to play off of, someone to open up a bit of space for him to do his thing. I don’t believe that we purposely signed players that we knew wouldn’t score goals, problem was we wanted a huge transition to Garnerball over the summer and we took too many gambles. Ayunga, Daly, Hanlan had about 15 EFL goals between them going into this season, we were naive to think that on its own with a few decent wingers behind them would be enough for even a semi-decent campaign let alone a successful one. |

Nicholson a huge threat and then moved to right wing back. That was strange. And if Westbrooke doesn’t start on Saturday then somethings wrong. Reaction to conceding was disappointing. Expected more. Dust ourselves down and move on to a new £10 project on Saturday I guess. Think I'll save my tenner on Saturday tbh. I'll probably change my mind but right now I can't think of much worse than watching another 90 minutes involving Rovers. I'm on the same wavelength as you. |

I have to be honest I turned off when we conceded the second. I felt positive at half time that we would get something from the game but second half we didn’t perform. I know people have said about inexperience but there are plenty of experienced pros out there tonight. What we lack is steel, fight and pride. I didn’t understand the change back to a back three at half time. If McCormick was injured surely we could of made a like for like replacement as I felt we looked in the game playing 4231. Hargreaves must be wondering what he has to do to get a game at the moment We were actually doing OK before they got their second. The problem is that it was so easy for them to get their second yet we could play until Friday and still not score. very good cross though for the 2nd. We had about 10 into Bonham's gloves in the 2nd with just an occasional semi-dangerous one put in. |

Yeah and I told him not to get involved with the next appointment but he did Tisdale league two beckons I’m afraid 😟 Don't be an idiot all your life. Whatever people say about GC he organised that defence and signed the best goalie in this division. If Craig was 103 I'd still play him instead of Ehmer

He wouldn’t have been my choice but This is not Tisdales fault!!!
This is a squad brought together by Garner & Widdrington. We have a few average individuals but a team short on experience, ability & desire & overall WEAK.
The defence is terrible - Harries , Baldwin, Ehmer are poor, replacements.
Westbrook, Grant, Upson none of them have shown any fight.
Hare Kilgore shadows of there form of 12 months ago.
Upfront, well forget it.
Still we have plenty of potential- they might fulfill that in L2 or god forbid NL

what is inexplicable is defenders heading the ball 10 yards instead of 30 and when having to hit a 5 yard pass to a rovers player hitting it 3 yards to an opponent

I quite like the nicholson, oztumer, McCormick combo.... Reckon its got legs.... Good call. Thought these 3 were the only stand outs tonight and definitely something to work with. |
