I just watched the extended highlights and Tisdale’s post match, feeling so much more positive after that poor showing versus Gillingham. Can’t wait now for next weeks game with Argyle! The last minutes of Tisdale’s interview was absolutely class and I just want to reiterate how happy I am he was made our gaffer and I look forward to a bright and articulate future with him at the helm alongside Wael and the board - here’s hoping anyway, this is the Rovers after all

Not going to get carried away, we were due a win, need to win a few more now before the new year. I appreciate your point, but Wombles were given a goal start and an arguably fortuitous second. But we fought back with style, panache and a lot of skill. It wasn't a lucky or flukey win, it was well deserved. Against a team who at the kick off were on a par with the team who had beaten us days earlier. However, next Saturday will tell....

I was watching my son play football in a JPL match at Southall of all places , ear plugs in listening to the Gas . Got some strange looks from the other parents as I cheered 3 times and a couple of “ oh for f**ks sake” . 😀

A day on and I’m still buzzing! I got home from the optician’s (yes honestly) at 2 minutes to 3. Made a snap decision to buy an iFollow pass and watch. Went to my account on the Rovers site and a few clicks later the picture’s up on the laptop. I hear the refs whistle and they’re off! Five minutes later I’m wondering what’s happened? What’s that for ref? Have I wasted a tenner? Even after I risked being late for the game doing my good deed for the day (buying a hot chocolate for the homeless). I’ll do anything to get Lady Luck inside! 58 years supporting does that to you. Decided that the injustice might spur us on - at 1:2 I dared think it was working then, bump! Never mind, go again Gas! Then Hanlan missed a sitter! OMG, really! One minute later he rams in a more difficult chance. C’mon Rovers, up at half time, wow. Amazing standard of football played (by us!) in the third quarter. Great fourth goal. Saw the game out with Ansii solid as ever. To top it all off a fabulous load of sense from our new manager (including a subtle use of the verb ‘garner’)! Real class to mention Avonmouth, even let him off mention of that other team but please don’t do it again. The change from Wednesday wasn’t as big as some people seem to think, we played well before conceding against Gillingham but our heads dropped. This time we fought back. Onwards and upwards we hope (and an office for Mr Tisdale please - he’s been here two weeks you know).

I keep rewatching the Penalty incident and I can't see anything to suggest what the Ref thought he saw. It seems that the Wimbledon forward goes to ground and makes a two footed lunge at the ball. He should have been carded and a free kick to us. What am I missing?

Had the ref been a few yards either side we might of got the benefit of the doubt.

It’s incidents like that for all its faults VAR is a good thing, no way was that a penalty ,as it happened it didn’t effect the result of the match but imagine if we would have lost 1-0.

What VAR does is stop all that. Var was introduced soley because of the money aspect in what position a team finnished in the Premier League, not to make it any better. Why football is so popular is because it has so many unpredictable things going on during the game, including the referees decisions. What VAR does is relegate the referee in to 2nd place when it comes to decisions. Of course it breaks the game up more than it needs to be as well. Personally I thin VAR is sh**e, and the day it drops to our level I stop going

Absolutely no sign of the ref lecturing their players when we took our free kick for the seoncd.

Absolutely no sign of the ref lecturing their players when we took our free kick for the seoncd. Agree, the ref was a good 20 yards from any Dons player and they were all set in defensive positions. Bizarre report, even the claims that they dominated second half until we scored, I thought we started the half well and looked in control (stats also showed 4 shots for us v 2 for them in that period)

What a terrible match report, so many inaccuracies it’s almost as if Ben Garner has written it.

What a terrible match report, so many inaccuracies it’s almost as if Ben Garner has written it. Typical journalism - he knows his audience and is pandering to them, with an eye on circulation.
