Buzzing for this one! What a great opportunity for us to progress to Wembley in this fabulous tournament and after the way we played the other day, we should wipe the floor with Orient I expect PT to make several changes for this one, whilst still putting a team out he thinks is capable of winning. I'm not getting carried away but anything less than 4-0 to the gas will be a disappointment! UTG! P.S I am surprised how pessimistic their fans are about the likely result, also they will have some fans in attendance.. lofcforum.boards.net/thread/8949/os-bristol-rovers-12-2020

So Ayunga is back in contention and I am really looking forward to seeing what he can do in a more settled team / formation. Offers something different to Hanlan and could be a decent outlet for the more direct/long passes and hold up play against teams that can be a bit 'iffy' defending that kind of play (*Ahem Rovers)
If Ayunga starts we could well see a return for Harries so we can test the more direct approach as he is known for a decent passing range (yet to be totally convinced but you see it in spells) with his left peg.

We've had one game when we were awesome the game before that we were awful. Will Orient let us play or will they be in our faces? If the latter can we cope? If the first 3-0 to the Gas if the second we could struggle so 2-2 we win on pens. 7pm kick btw

Will be interesting to see how PT goes about this. Will he put out his strongest side or will he use this game to give some of the others a chance. I'm thinking the latter and I'm thinking Leyton will be approaching this in much the same way, as they are just outside the playoffs. This competition is all about the final and not much else so it's a good oppertunity to take a look at fringe players and to rest regulars.

He's already said he'll only be making a few changes at most. He wants momentum and I completely agree with his mindset. I reckon we'll see Tutonda, Harries and maybe Ayunga at some point (if fit). Maybe Hargreaves too.

With Ayunga back to playing some part then I think he'll end up starting... (better to start a player coming back from injury so if they breakdown they can be replaced whereas if the come on as sub and break down it is a 'wasted' substitution. I do think more of the fringe players will start so I can see the following team 9if we go 4-2-3-1:
GK - JVS
LB - Koiki LCB - Harries RCB - Kilgour RB - Hare
DM - Liddle DM - Upson
AM - Barrett AM - Westbrooke AM - Ozthumer (only in the starting line up due to the rules)
CF - Ayunga
With Subs: Alexis Andre JR / Armstrong, Hargreaves, Walker, Baldwin, Tutonda, Grant, Hanlan
If we go 3-4-2-1 then I think it will be:
GK: JVS
LCB - Harries CB - Baldwin RCB - Kilgour
LW(B) - Koiki CM - Upson CM - Liddle RW(B) - Hare
AM - Westbrooke AM - Barrett
CF - Ayunga
With Subs being: Armstrong/Andre Jr, Walker, Oz (or maybe one of the development players yet to feature?), Ehmer, Tutonda, Hargreaves, Grant (or maybe one of the development players such as Tomlinson?)
I'd ideally like to be resting and protecting Nicholson, Hanlan and Oz if we can as the have been the key creative sparks for us in recent games....

Cant see there being many changes and rightly so. We need to build on Saturday. I see the playing JVS as a problem as not only does it limit vastly our chances of getting through but what happens if you play him all the way and we do get to the final (a miracle) do you then deny Annsi the chance to play at Wembley in a final? I am a firm believer in playing the best team you can put out for all first team games irrespective of competition. It should be well within the capabilities of a professional footballer.

The overriding problem is the defence, so he could see this as an opportunity to make changes there as a priority. Does anyone know how much winning tonight will earn the club?

Saturday seemed to suggest they were playing happy. I am looking forward to the match later - never thought i would be saying that for the Papa Johns Trophy match lol

Bold statement: the players, many of whom have been youth players, have just worked out how intense real football is.
The main difference last time was more effort, battling. It is not a training game now. Also, the confidence which came with facing problems as a team and overcoming them.
I expect only improvement from here and the team to show everyone how good they are. A comfortable win predicted, followed by more.
Bear in mind I often think “not enough passion” is often an excuse for not being good enough. This time, I think it’s true
