Urgently! Unfortunately JVS concedes many goals Jaakkola would save. A real concern. I agree, I genuinely believe that Jak would have saved that first goal and the second well!!! I know Jaakola is good but I don't think many (if any) keepers would save that first one.

Just saw this on the comments section on the bristol live ratings for this game... and I gotta say its a valid point Interesting stat. Garner lost 5 out of 11 against sides currently sitting in 1st.3rd.4th.5th and 10th. Tisdale has lost 3 out of 6 league games against side currently sitting 13th.16th and 22nd. Just saying Saying what though, PT is as poor, or poorer, a manager as BG? Not sure anyone feels that's the case when before COVID/injuries struck we'd won 3 consecutive games, something BG could only dream about doing.

Paul Tisdale talking on Radio Bristol says Jaakkola could be out 4 a while with a Achilles problem Says he's just got a "sore achilles" in the BP, that sounds a short term rather than long term injury. At least Ozt and Westbrook should be back for the Blackpool match.

Some predictable complete over reactions its nice to see that whatever 2020 throws at us GasChat wont change. We've played after an enforced 10 day lock down, not just no games but a squad with some players suffering from covid and those virus free not even allowed out of their houses. Whatever anyone says that's bound to have some kind of effect and it wasnt a real surprise to see us start slowly, add in to that 4 regulars missing including arguably the best goalkeeper in the division. PT still has a big job ahead but I certainly dont feel any less confident than I did after the Plymouth game, we now have a free week leading into Blackpool to hopefully get players back and Rodman/Little back nearer match fitness. Glass still half full here.

Just saying Take a look at those 3 games and see what players were missing due to injuries, particularly affecting due to the crazily unbalanced squad Garner had assembled.

We’ve barely trained in the last two weeks and had 4 of our best players out. Meh. I’d have been stunned had we NOT been shocking today. I bit of an exaggeration to say Grant and Oztumer are two of our better players? I wouldn't be surprised if the latter returns to Charlton next month as he's hardly figured under PT. I guess today was typical Rovers in recent times, like when we play against 10 men or have a player sent off, other teams battle though, we just weakly throw in the towel. Oztumer has hardly figured under PT except for starting the last four games before he got injured! He displaced Westbrooke and was just starting to tick. Say what you like about Grant but we couldn’t replace him adequately today. He’s the best we have in that shielding role in front of defence which Upson doesn’t really have the legs for and Hargreaves doesn’t have the tactical discipline yet.

Can’t take anyone who compares BG to PT seriously to be honest. Amazed some are even contemplating this debate. PT is still getting his feet under the desk. BG failed to deliver anything by this point in his tenure.

On reflection I agree, I guess it's the same as losing Ogogo, Clark and Sercs from last seasons side, I think McCormack played central mid today with Hargreaves on the right wing.

Reflections on the game.
For a swanky stadium the pitch was terrible. I suggest the quarters has a training pitch that is awful ,so players can prepare for games of poor pitches better !
Mk Don's, passed the ball quite well but played very slowly. They have little frontline threat and will struggle if it's not addressed. Sorensen played well for them and their centre backs snuffed out Hanlan easy enough by doubling up on him.
Rovers. Played like a team that's been eating mince pies for a fortnight. I thought kilgour was the pick of the defense. The midfield struggled badly without grant
Players who should be very concerned they wont be picked next game. JVS Hargreaves Upson Barrett Koiki Nicholson
Players who need to step it up next game. Ehmer McCormick Hanlan Ayunga
Players who got away with it just Baldwin Leahy Rodman
Mom kilgour ,despite some errors put himself on the line with several blocks and won challenges.
Bad day at the office ,start again next game

All I kept thinking during that match is ‘thank god Pompey is off’ - them lot are flying & we look like we need a full week on the training ground to try and get some rhythm and sharpness back into the players before another game.

Mk have been sh** but we setup a side with no midfielders who can create I think we need to get Linesey back , or stick Marshy in the Mids.

Terrible in all departments. Players can't pass the ball, hold the ball, throw the ball. Set pieces are too laborious. Cannot win a loose ball. Relegation survival now. What a waste of an afternoon. We’ve barely trained in the last two weeks and had 4 of our best players out. Meh. I’d have been stunned had we NOT been shocking today. That is NOT a good enough excuse for a team with so many squad members. Also, most professional sportspeople, especially footballers playing in the top 4 tiers will probably have very good training facilities at home for themselves? Keeping fit should not be a problem! If it is a question of practising tactics with team mates, the obvious start would have been to play like we last played away at Wombles? If it doesn’t work, then change it. The way I saw it was that we were too cautious! Our best approach, with the players we have and their abilities to hold and pass the ball, is just to play the ball forward fast, run with the ball when in their half at opponents, etc. Just go for it. Our defence and midfield are too weak to sustain pressure and defend so we should just attack! The way we played 1st half was similar to under the previous manager? Up The Ante UTG

Yeah but apart from that we we’re fine. It could be worse we could be Yeovil supporters, just the 6 - 1 stuffing today 😁👍 LoL I don’t think we should really worry too much how other teams do but how we do? For professional players, it was terrible! Basic controls, holding the ball, etc. The pass by Barrett at the end across the halfway line to their player was probably the best example. MK who are in a similar league position to us showed us how to control, hold, pass, move and attack with the ball with no real risk. So many times in the 1st half, our players kept socially distant from them. It was too easy for them! MK should have scored at least 3 more? PS If we played Torquay we would probably get thrashed as well? Most West Country clubs would give us a real game if not beat us, eg Exeter FGR Newport Cheltenham etc.? Up The West Country UTG

We looked very sluggish and as effective as I am on my first day back at work after a two week holiday. Let’s hope a few days proper training gets us going again. We really miss Jaakkola and Grant and one of Westbrook and Oz. I thought our defence did ok until we started chasing the game. Poor Hanlan looked knackered up front.

When the second goal went in our heads went down, and they pulled our pants down as well.

Up The Ante UTG You can't replicate 11v11 at home mate. When people talk of "match fitness"; along with physical well-being, they also mean 'how long since they kicked a ball? How long since they played competitively? How long have they had to practice match tactics amongst their line up?" A lot more than pounding the treadmill goes into making a peak footballer.
