Brexit has pushed £150bn of assets from UK to France A big shift in both assets and jobs from the UK to France is already under way and will accelerate this year, according to the governor of the Bank of France.
Francois Villeroy de Galhau revealed around 170bn euros (£150bn) of assets and 2,500 jobs had already been moved out of London by the end of 2020. “It is now or never that we should seize the double opportunity of Brexit and the reconstruction to make a capital markets union,” Villeroy said.
It comes as the largest political group in the European parliament urges EU chiefs to come up with a “master plan” to move key financial services out of London after Brexit.

Unless the services MoA due in March covers this it's a visa per country, not one for the EU as a whole, and some will require work permits too. "After Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Brexit trade deal failed to secure visa-free travel for artists wishing to tour Europe (adding huge costs to future live music tours of the continent will be incurred and preventing rising and developing UK artists from being able to afford it), a row erupted over who was responsible. Last week, Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden put the blame for this at the foot of the EU following reports that a “standard” proposal that would exempt performers from needing a visa to enter countries in the EU for trips under 90 days was actually turned down by the UK government. Then as, the NME revealed, the EU then hit back – denying claims that they had rejected the UK’s “ambitious proposals” and that in fact they offered the UK 90 days of visa-free travel but the UK responded with their own proposal of just 30 days. See more info on the different deals here. “There are 359 mentions of the £1.2billion fishing industry in the 1248 page Brexit Deal, and the outcome is a completely unworkable shambles,” wrote Mark Davyd of the Music Venue Trust. “The £110billion Creative Industries aren’t mentioned once. So let’s see how well that plays out.” " www.nme.com/news/music/ministers-reject-fighting-for-visa-free-brexit-touring-plan-for-musicians-2860053?utm_campaign=ministers-reject-fighting-for-visa-free-brexit-touring-plan-for-musicians&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=upday.samsung.browser

There's a certain schadenfreude in those that voted for brexit being the ones most affected by it. I can say that safe in the knowledge that I did more to support them than they did!

The City is safe. We were told it was. Even by posters on here, in great detail.

At PMQ last week Starmer was chuntering on about the quality of the food boxes being distributed. Boris replied and said he was appalled at the standard and was intent on rectifying the problem. He then said he had spoken with Marcus Rashford and said he was doing a better job of holding the govt to account than the Right Honourable Learned gentleman opposite. Hindsight’s face was a picture! What do we see on BBC news a day later? Captain Hindsight in a food box centre putting food into boxes just like.... Marcus Rashford had been filmed doing previously, Captain Hindsight for PM. Ooh me side Sides! Boris was appalled by the food boxes sent out that his government decided what should of been put in them . Then he boasts of being held to account ( for the multitude of monumental f**k ups ) orby a footballer and wears it like a badge of honour . And you’re using this to ridicule Keir Starmer ? 😂 You ain’t the brightest spark are you ! I doubt very much the govt decided what should go in the food boxes do you? I’m sure that would have been delegated and if found wanting those delegated told to up the game. As for Boris saying a footballer was doing a better job than the opposition leader I wouldn’t imagine that was much of a badge of honour for him either. And I’m not the brightest spark? keep posting rubbish if you want to though.

It’s the education dept who set out the guidelines for what should be in a box ..... or are they not a part of the government? The fact that the poor quality boxes were provided by a company who’s boss was a Tory donator and they fell short of the meagre minimum amount of food that should of been provided says all you need to know about these shysters.

The fact is, Boris Johnson feels more pressure from a footballer than he does from the leader of the opposition. That’s says everything you need to know about Capt. Hindsight. Also, the leader of the Welsh Labour govt is so inept he won’t allow vaccination to full capacity because they haven’t got enough vaccine and you’re personal hero, that ragged old tramp Steptoe, has criticised the government over the amount of vaccine it has purchased. His preference is to give it away to the third world. That’s OK then, people can die here because their vaccine, paid for out of their tax money, has been sent abroad to satiate Steptoe’s conscience. Wow.

Wow. There are, or were guidelines, as to what constitutes nutrition for children. As Stuart pointed out earlier there must have been a Service Level Agreement within the contract with the supplier. That it appears that nobody was monitoring this contract and it took a young footballer to highlight this issue suggests a manifest failure of management as a minimum. A total lack of competence in reality. This is not the only example is it? Track & Trace, Mgmt of PPE stocks, the Education fiasco, etc etc. It really does not matter what Starmer says or does, he does not hold the purse strings nor hold any management oversight. Johnson is, in effect, the Chief Executive. The buck stops at his desk. He is watering away our precious tax funds as one of the most incompetent PMs ever.

I’m not disagreeing with you Oldie, far from it. If value isn’t being returned then people need to be held to account. That’s why there’s SLA’s. Why this wasn’t sorted at the appropriate level without all this political yaah - booing, one can only guess. But the fact that the PM feels more pressure from 23yr old footballer than the leader of the opposition, a Knight of The Realm And a qualified barrister no less, tells you all you need to know about said leader.

The only thing I would say in response is that Starmer and his shadow executive did not award the contract and did not have oversight responsibility. However, I do wonder what constituency MPs are doing. They represent these kids and their families. I dont care which party they are members of. For me this is a dereliction of duty, perhaps keeping quiet under instruction of their party hierarchy. Which, frankly, I find disgusting.

Classic deflection tactic, talk about Welsh Labour or the opposition leader to avoid discussing the damage that the ones who are actually in charge are inflicting upon this country.
I suppose you’ll want to claim that scrapping the increase to universal credit, which will push 200,000 children below the poverty line, is somehow the fault of the shadow chancellor?

That's the power of the celebrity, few really care what a politician says, an odd piece on the TV or a few words in a newspaper but ask a famous footballer (or indeed anyone with 'influence') and it's all over the news. Factor in social media on top of that and the message is heard by millions.

However, I have to wonder how widespread the under supply of food is, and whether it’s being inflated out of all proportion. But you’re right, if it’s a serial problem then MPs should be asking questions. With regards to party hierarchy telling MPs to keep quiet, I assume the opposition would have no part of that because it’s an open goal so, as I say, I wonder how big this problem actually is. Please, put party loyalty to one side, didn’t you think Boris’ H of C put-down was funny, and didn’t you find it even funnier when Starmer was on the news the next day, complete with visor and mask, helping to pack food boxes, ala Rashford?

No deflection tactics being used by me, And please don’t put words in my mouth. I saw an interview clip where Starmer said he wanted UC scrapped. All I did was report what I saw and heard. Also, is there a Shadow Chancellor? I can’t say I’ve noticed. Incidentally, the damage that would have been inflicted on this country if that ragged scarecrow had won the GE would be beyond comprehension. You’re lucky other people saved you from yourself!
