You could read that the other way ,perhaps we shouldn't have all our eggs in one basket.

Crazy stuff. It's hard to feel little or no sympathy. Stories like this add to the evidence that too many people didn't know what they were voting for. Where I did have more sympathy was a guy on R4, the Today Programme this morning. Guy who had ran a business with a lot of interaction with the EU countries. His sales have collapsed, he took advantage of a Government loan last year of £30,000 to support his business through Covid. But sales have stopped completely since January be and he has to start repaying it in April. It sounds like he is done by and bankrupt. In January our exports of were down 40%, I didn't comment because taking one month's figures is daft. But the first quarter's, most definitely. Will make interesting reading.

I struggle to have any sympathy for people who voted for Brexit and it then created difficulties for them.

For far too many people in the UK the economic gains since the 90s passed them by. Deindustrialization, concentrating control of expenditure in the centre of Government, austerity. With nowhere to go and nobody actually articulating the economic case for a single market...people ended up beguiled by nationalism and wholly irrelevant references to a long past bygone era. Politicians are still doing it, union jacks everywhere. Very sad.

Wave those flags guys.

Kicking off in Northern Ireland, the loyalists aren't happy that the 'UK' is shafting them for brexit.
Another win for the government.

"I am deeply concerned by the scenes of violence in Northern Ireland" says the man who was warned there would be deeply concerning scenes of violence in Northern Ireland.

It doesn't have to be like that does it,whilst I realise that the extra beaucracy is tiresome is it really necessary to take to the streets and start throwing petrol bombs etc, seems like a good excuse for loyalists to ferment trouble underpinned by criminal gangs.
