Dont know whether to laugh or cry Great isn’t it ? I remember having the arguments with Brexit loons who told me we’d have no problems getting Brits to do this work , we’ll be able to pay them more when we send back the forriners etc etc .

They miss us, Part 1: "For Ireland, the most awkward irony of Brexit may be that it’s just lost its closest ally in Europe. “The European Union without the United Kingdom,” he said, “is a weaker and poorer place.” It also has become a more complicated place for an Ireland whose interests still substantially overlap with Britain’s. Varadkar — the leader of Ireland’s most pro-European party, Fine Gael — predicted that Ireland “always will remain pro-European” but must mend strained relations with London as a top priority." www.politico.eu/article/leo-varadkar-ireland-brexit-europe-united-kingdom-ally/

They miss us, Part 2: " “To tell the truth, the British never felt at ease in the EU,” he says, pointing to the way Britain tended to see the EU as mainly an economic project, and distancing themselves from the political nuances. “When you tell your people for years, decades, ‘Yes, we are part of it, but not really. We are part-time Europeans,’ then you can’t be surprised when you ask their opinion and discover that a small majority of them believe Britain could do better outside the EU,” he says. He sighs at some of the caricatures of the EU that emerged in Britain. “This brainwashing – sometimes populist, sometimes demagogic, sometimes planned – against the EU meant that British people voted for Brexit,” Mr Juncker says. “I always respect the sovereign decision, but it was ahistorical. It went against the course of history.” Still, he retains a fondness for Britain, pointing to the television screen in his office, switched to the BBC World channel. “These are down-to-earth people,” he says. “Other Europeans are more volatile, more passionate, sometimes naïve. The British were always more pragmatic. I always appreciated the pragmatic approach of the British governments, both Labour and Conservatives, on Europe. I’m not bitter or angry. I am just sad that this element of good sense has left Europe.” Nor does Mr Juncker ascribe to the view – held by Brexiters and some in Brussels – that Britain was never destined to be a true member of the European family. “No, I always thought that it was normal for Britain to be in the EU – which owes it a lot,” he says, pointing to the UK’s military heft, global influence, and its roles in shaping the EU’s single market." inews.co.uk/news/politics/jean-claude-juncker-should-not-listened-david-cameron-brexit-961807/amp?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=upday

Who said medicine supplies would be fine? "Brexit will prevent vital medicines to treat cancer, epilepsy and diabetes from reaching Northern Ireland, drug experts are warning. Firms making non-branded drugs are already starting to withdraw them because of costly new red tape, ministers are being told – threatening to cut the treatments available. Mr Samuels pointed out that 80 per cent of medicines in the UK are generic, pointing to potassium chloride – the solution commonly found in intravenous strips – as another under threat. “It has been in particular demand during the Covid pandemic and has two main suppliers in Northern Ireland. One of those suppliers, has already pulled all eight of its products,” he told BBC Radio 4." www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-will-prevent-cancer-epilepsy-and-diabetes-medicines-reaching-northern-ireland-b1833882.html%3famp

😂
Classic, superficially plausible misuse of stats from @spectator : (100% - 42%) × (100% + 47%) ~ 85%. All hail the glorious Brexit success of a 15% loss of trade.

I see Johnson (or at least his twitter account) is trumpeting the Eu ratifying the zero quota, zero tariff deal
Of course those non-tariff barriers he said that don't exist, but do are still there. Costing the company I work for loads
