Nothing to worry about, we've been promised. 🤔 "A UK government spokesperson said: "Any deal we sign will include protections for the agriculture industry and will not undercut UK farmers or compromise our high standards. "Hormone-fed beef is banned in the UK and will not be allowed to enter the UK market - this won't change under any FTA." " www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-57268681

The other forum will be waving their flags and saying it’s the best deal ever . 😀

I'm not normally in agreement with Simon Jenkins but this bit is very true: "We have learned much in the past year. Brexit is not a disaster but nor is it a bonanza. There are no “great deals” to be done with the rest of the world. There is no such thing as trade sovereignty. The EU remains Britain’s biggest trading partner and trade with it has not been freed of bureaucracy by Brexit" An EFTA style agreement would make this whole thing so much better, leaving the political aspects but continuing to trade. That's what most wanted, wasn't it? On a separate note, I see over on the other forum, Nobby is complaining about delays on imports from the UK to Germany, something we warned about for years.

Yes, Nobby's quote did make me smile. As to the effects of Brexit, it will be the degree of variance from our growth potential that will be the outcome. Not some some dramatic event either way.

Whoops! Good job Boris reads the smallprint and is well aware of what he and his ministers sign.

Whoops! Good job Boris reads the smallprint and is well aware of what he and his ministers sign. can't wait til it's built by the Dutch or French The government will be ordering new logistics ships for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary in the next two years, there will be very limited capacity at UK yards to build them so the current mood music is that they'll go to an overseas yard, probably Navantia in Spain, to build the hulls (the relatively cheap part of a ship) and the big money on fitting out will be at UK yards. If that happens then the political wordplay will be interesting.
