But we’re a bit more non EU than them. All a bit childish and petty really. Childish of them to stick to the rules ? 🤔

Really? amp.theguardian.com/world/2021/jun/21/eu-prepares-cut-amount-british-tv-film-shown-brexit?__twitter_impression=true"The EU is preparing to act against the “disproportionate” amount of British television and film content shown in Europe in the wake of Brexit, in a blow to the UK entertainment industry and the country’s “soft power” abroad. The UK is Europe’s biggest producer of film and TV programming, buoyed up by £1.4bn from the sale of international rights, but its dominance has been described as a threat to Europe’s “cultural diversity” in an internal EU document seen by the Guardian." All a bit Stalinist , don't let the people watch what they want to watch, how does that square away with the EU being a bastion of freedom.? Definitely a whiff of jilted lover about it. Of course, had we not left then there would nothing they could do, our artists could continue to earn a living (the music sector for example was dominant earning millions, if not billions, with free movement) and our influence become greater. Whereas now we are a third party and they can do as they please, our artists have to apply for permits for each country to play gigs across the EU.

I see the Swiss voted for their own Swixit recently, so I presume they’re next on the hit list. Did they? A quick google shows they voted to keep free movement? Well Ireland is going to vote to leave according to some 🤣

We’re now in direct competition with them , so it’s a logical move for them to make isn’t it ? Promote their own stuff , languages etc . This is the path we’ve chosen and it’s no good whining about it .

Yep, Boris could have included an exception but chose not to as it would be seen as 'free movement'.

I think most people can access the internet and other various media platforms if they want to seek something out Exactly Which is why cultural nationalism is doomed to fail. In fact why all attempts to contain the individual through populist nationalism will fail. I dont know if anyone heard Ken Clarke on R4 this morning. His put down of petty nationalism was hilarious, he was referring to the new "Royal" yacht.
