Really? amp.theguardian.com/world/2021/jun/21/eu-prepares-cut-amount-british-tv-film-shown-brexit?__twitter_impression=true"The EU is preparing to act against the “disproportionate” amount of British television and film content shown in Europe in the wake of Brexit, in a blow to the UK entertainment industry and the country’s “soft power” abroad. The UK is Europe’s biggest producer of film and TV programming, buoyed up by £1.4bn from the sale of international rights, but its dominance has been described as a threat to Europe’s “cultural diversity” in an internal EU document seen by the Guardian."

Wasn’t Macron trying to make French the dominant language in Europe now he’s pretty much numero uno ? Sure I read something like that . No doubt the Brexit mob will complain that even though we’re not in the EU they should all speak English, watch English tv , films etc .

It's still the lingua franca.

We’re still European, so are the Swiss and the Norwegians. If they want to end such privileges, then I presume other European “non EU” members will be getting the same treatment.

Further talks about CPTPP. "Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has entered three days of negotiations over the UK becoming part of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). The PM said the possible free trade agreement, which exists between Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam, would create "unparalleled opportunities for the UK". The UK already has trade agreements with seven CTPP members, including - most recently - Australia. But the government said CPTPP membership would allow the UK access to some of the world's biggest economies, with members having a combined GDP of £9trn. They added that joining the alliance would lower tariffs on British cars and whisky - with tariff-free trade for 99.9% of exports - and help British farmers sell beef and lamb into fellow CPTPP countries." news.sky.com/story/boris-johnson-says-prospect-of-trans-pacific-trade-deal-is-exciting-opportunity-as-dominic-raab-begins-negotiations-12338098

I love walking the length of Severn beach and dipping my toes into the Pacific Ocean, in fact I often gaze over to the landmass across the water and wonder to myself whether I am looking at Chile or Peru.

All a bit Stalinist , don't let the people watch what they want to watch, how does that square away with the EU being a bastion of freedom.?
