Those roaming charges we were assured would not come back.... "Vodafone has become the second UK mobile company to reintroduce roaming charges for users travelling in Europe. From January, new and upgrading customers will be charged at least £1 a day to use their mobile phone in EU destinations, on several tariffs. It follows similar plans from rival EE, announced in June. Initially, all operators said they would not reintroduce a roaming charge after Brexit, despite having the option to." www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-58146039

I cant think of much that was warned of that hasn't actualized, can you?

Off the top of my head, I can only think of the more extreme predictions such as the level of unemployment, financial jobs upping from London and emergency budget. But while these events didn't happen to that extreme, similar has happened. I said at the start of all this, the worse case wasn't going to happen but neither was the best case. The upside, such as there was ever going to be, is and will continue to be for some time, minimal compared to what we lost.

Not that easy with a family and the various hoops you have to jump through financially. I’m sure you know this really and are just having a laugh.

I think that's the point though, you can't just live there anymore and then apply for permanent residency. You need a visa to stay more than 90 days.... That'll cost you thousands

No I wouldn't have a laugh at yours or anyone else's expense it's not in my nature. I just looked on the Internet and there was a piece explaining the process and whilst it is different post Brexit it's relatively straightforward .

The fact that you need an income of 1250 euros a month for each adult is the problem , the teenager becomes an adult in a years time …. So would also need 1250 euros a month. Think you also have to have something like 300 euros extra a month for each child . Our original plan was to move to France , buy a house with a gîte or two , live off those earnings topped up by my wife’s pension. I can’t get mine for quite a few yrs ! Live pretty frugally and enjoy the sun ☀️ Under the new rules it doesn’t stack up for us . If you’ve got a very fat pension or can get a well paid job it’s a non starter for most people . No probs off course if you’re a rich Tory voting brexiteer , just invest a million pounds in french property or business and you get a golden visa
