F*CK, it's funny I guess, but is this the general short of sh*t circulating on boomerbook? England is the gift that just keeps giving.

As the army is now on standby, how many extra drivers does that imply to the layman? 😀 1500 Out by a factor of 10, and I don't mean 15,000. It'll help but hardly a dent in the shortfall.

Probably, tanker drivers need additional qualifications due to the hazardous content, not something which can be done overnight. It may just be me, but the suggestion the army is on standby implies a lot of personnel available, perhaps in the low thousands. It's not, it's really is PR management.

How to unload the petrol and other stuff apparently. So I heard by some man in the know !

Well Nissan cancelled out the lack of trade. Tevva cancels out the drop in availability and gas increased. I’d say that’s 3-2 in favour that Brexit was a great decision.

Standards being maintained..... "The UK government is to relax the regulation of gene-edited crops to enable commercial growing in England. The plants are to be tested and assessed in the same way as conventional new varieties. The changes are possible because the UK no longer has to follow European Union regulations, which are the strictest in the world." www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-58711230

Boris will save us. "Next has called for the government to take a "more decisive" approach as it warned a lack of foreign workers could hamper Christmas shopping deliveries. The business, led by Conservative peer Lord Wolfson, suggested that after the "widely predicted" HGV driver crisis, it should act to avert further looming problems in areas such as warehouses, restaurants, hotels, and care homes. Unless immigration rules were relaxed, the retailer said, it was "likely to experience some degradation" in service in the run-up to Christmas." news.sky.com/story/next-urges-more-decisive-approach-from-government-as-worker-crunch-threatens-christmas-deliveries-12420961

It's another example of 'we'll maintain standards' but the renege on them. On the actual topic, I have my concerns but willing to let the science explain. Listening to one interview yesterday it seems less of an issue from the Frankenfoods scare stories many years ago. As with so much, there are pros and cons.
