Maybe this is a good year to get to the final. At least playin in an empty Wembley will avoid the whole should you, should you not go boycott debate! Last seasons Final still hasn't been played yet! Maybe then can have some sort of finals day and play one final after the other! (Assuming last years finalists don't get to the final again!) The winners can keep the trophy for ninety minutes and then hand it over to us when we win this years tournament!

If Tutonda is fit I’d like to see him in Nicholson’s role on the right cutting in on his left , rest Hanlan and a couple of other important first teamers. Keep Day in goal as it’s important he gets to know his defence / they know him.

I'd keep Day in goal and Ehmer as RB and captain for consistency. Maybe give Harries and one of our many LBs a run out. Westbrooke, Oz and anyone else who had covid could do with a rest. Bring in Barrett, Hargreaves, Rodman and get Ayunga match fit That was my thoughts too. With the EFL cup bubble busted, we have a fair few players who could do with some minutes. Great chance to give Barret a bit more carrot.. another outing - get fit lad, this is what you're missing - and players like Liddle, Koiki. Ayunga too as he's back could benefit from a throwaway match IMO. Not sure if carrots will encourage Barrett, more like pies

We have a big squad and it could be a chance for one or two to convince PT they are worth keeping.
Definitely start JD in goal.... Probably bring in Harries, Koiki (who could be a real player if PT can develop him), chance for Hare, Hargreaves, Barrett and Ayunga to start also.

I think there’s a player in there, perhaps he ate him.

4-2-3-1
JVS
LITTLE EHMER HARRIES KOIKI
GRANT LIDDLE
RODMAN McCORMICK WALKER
AYUNGA
gives the fringe players a chance to impress whilst not picking up injuries to our key players. I’d like us to go for it as we probably have a decent chance of winning the thing. And let’s face it our trophy cabinet has hardly been stuffed full during our life times has it!!

I might have dreamt this but isnt Ehmer suspended for next league game ? If that's the case I'd start Little at RB and play Ehmer in middle with Harries. Protect Kilgour & Baldwin for Sat. Think McCormick & Oztuhmer both unavailable for this competition so potentially chance for Barrett or Rodman to start. Any extra revenue helps so although I'd make a few changes I'd still like to see us get through According to the FA disciplinary page (which seems to have had a revamp and is not as good as it was) Ehmer has 5 bookings, his 5th on 2nd Jan. www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/discipline/suspensions/clubdiscipline?status=1&league=32&club=10551969The rules say that 5 bookings within the first 19 league games should result in a one match ban (league specific, i.e. the cup competitions are treated separately) although the FA web page is confusing as it suggests that he served it on the day he got the caution? I would expect him to play tomorrow but not be available on Saturday

I hate this Dam competition and all that it stands for. But I would like us to win tomorrow and indeed win the whole thing if possible? I guess it’s about the money this year with virtually no income with the current situation. I will be paying a tenner and watching the game, COYB!

What to expect from AFC Wimbledon
So far AFC Wimbledon have played 3-5-2 in pretty much all of their matches this season. The goals have come from two main sources Joe Pigott with 10 (I would like to have signed him over the summer) and Ryan Longman with 5. Both play the Centre Forward role. Pigott has 4 assists to his name also. He is going to be a real handful!
Unsurprisingly Pigott 3.6 and Longman 2.5 take the most Shots per game Gas comparison: Nicholson 2.0 and Hanlan 2.0 then Oztumer 1.6 Key passes per game for them are also Pigott 1.2, Longman 1.3 and McLoughlin 1.1 Gas comparison: Westbrooke 1.9, Hare 1.4 and Oztumer 1.1 Winning the ball back are a host of players: Woodyard 2.2, Oksanen 2.1, Reilly 1.7 and McLoughlin with 1.6 Tackles per game Gas comparison: Harries 2.2, Little 2.0, Grant 1.9, Tutonda 1.7, Kilgour 1.6 and Baldwin 1.5 Clearances per game wise they have 4 Centre backs Thomas 5.1, Heneghan 4.4, Nightingale 4.1 amd Csoka 3.8 Gas comparison: Harries 5.8, Baldwin 5.6, Ehmer 4.5, Leahy 3.24 then Kilgour 2.9
*Please note - League stats only
+ Strengths Creating scoring chances - Very Strong Stealing the ball from the opposition - Very Strong
- Weaknesses Aerial duels - Weak Defending set pieces - Weak Defending against attacks down the wings - Weak Defending against skillful players - Weak Keeping possession of the ball - Very Weak Protecting the lead - Very Weak
AFC Wimbledon's Style of Play Long balls Attempt crosses often Take a lot of shots Play the offside trap Consistent first eleven Non-aggressive
So we know a bit more about this team as we have recently played them and probably gave one of our best performances this season on the road. It will be trickier you would expect this time out as its sudden death/winner goes through stuff but I still feel we have enough to beat them and make a real show for the ifollow crowds! There will be doubts over Nicholson's availability after picking up a knock and Sam Frost will report more later on that one. We have some other options available now in Ayunga although it might be too early for Daly but if he is available then that is a boost in the final third for sure. After a fine debut Joe Day could feature once again although Tis might prefer to go with JvS to give more game time. That being said we wanted to win against Leyton and I'm sure we will want to do the same again here so I wouldn't expect too many changes from our side that played Saturday.
Expected team to play in my opinion:
-------------------------Day-------------------------- ---- Ehmer -----Kilgour--- Baldwin ------ Leahy--- --------Upson--- Ogogo --- Grant ------ -----------------------Westbrooke---------------------- ------------Ayunga-------------Hanlan--------------
*adjusted - Ogogo replaces Upson and Ozzy who is not eligible means grant comes in with McCormick moving up to the attacking creative mid role *re-adjusted - Upson for McCormick as he is cup tied also (Thanks Rod) so have a quite DM heavy midfield with Westbrooke moving into the CAM.
Starting to think my line is a bit sh**e now though so be interested to hear who you think/want in yours...
What do you think? What would you do?

Oztumer isn't eligible I wouldn't risk Hanlan or anyone with the slightest knock. We have a really tough run of league games after tomorrow to the end of the month: Sat Charlton at Home Tue Crewe Away Sat Oxford Away Tue Peterborough Away Sat Rochdale Home
Then the first Sat in Feb - Fleetwood Away
We could be in real trouble after those 6 games (4 Away) without key players, and if the league gets chopped and decisions over relegation etc done on ppg.

I think Sam might be out for a few games based on the matchday blog text. That means if we drop Hanlan (which i think we need to consider might be the right thing to do) then it leaves Ayunga and maybe Walker? Thoughts?

Maybe Ogogo in for Upson? Would much rather Liddle be given an opportunity. A young, permanent signing that needs some time on the pitch.
