Bit here on it all from Frosty:
I'd love Newport to come in for 1 or 2 from us as they are local and doing well/playing neat footy and have recently had to return 5 loanees back to the parent clubs. Be really good experience and they boys wouldnt have to move/rent etc

Speaks well and with common sense - clearly he is weighing up the same issues and options as we are all talking about. I do wish the interviewer had his own mic, it's very difficult when you can barely hear the questions.

I thought that... great question...wait...what...what was the question... I turned the volume up and it was something about Oztumer (probably unavailable) and others that might be tired or sore... Jaakkola (Sub JvS half time)
Josh Hare Alfie Kilgour Jack Baldwin Luke Leahy

It's genuinely insane this competition still goes ahead this season.

It's genuinely insane this competition still goes ahead this season. Why does Covid only go for players in the EFL Trophy and not other football competitions? Very picky this Covid disease at times.

I'd have binned off the EFL Trophy, EFL Cup and ran an Apertura before splitting the Leagues into two which, would have reduced the season by at least 16 games for us (in reality it's been more with our progress in both cup comps).

Time to rest Upson although perhaps Rest isn't the most appropriate word. His contribution Sat was somewhat lacking. I could beat him in a race that's for sure

The EFL Cup has got as far as the final so binning that would clearly have been wrong. As far as the EFL Trophy this is one of the few cups we can actually make some decent money out of. The COVID test results last week suggested the players are virtually all testing negative at present.

Well the Southern League is suspended but the FA vase games MUST go ahead accroding to the FA The southern league isn't 'officially' suspended yet, but cancelled up to and including 6th march (so effectively cancelled I would say). I guess they're trying to run through as much non-league football as possible without an official 'plug-pull'.... Cancelling anything costs money, rock and hard place with non-league at the mo.....

I wonder if Sam Walker will play in goal for AFCW tomorrow. After his emergency loan to Blackpool he’s joined AFCW on loan from Reading he could play. That would be a good question in a quiz, who was the last keeper, or any player to play against Rovers for two different teams in 10 days at the Mem? UTG!

We've played 8 cup games this season, a season that has as many games as a normal season in short of 8 months, that's over a month shorter than a normal season. We're currently 4 league games behind and have just entered what can only be described as an escalating lockdown. The assumption that this season would be able to be completed as per usual in 5 weeks less time by the EFL shows a complete disregard for fans, players and staff of all clubs. Without five of those cup games in the two competitions that I mentioned above we'd have had 5 more potential match days for league games allowing the EFL to front load the season to potentially get a fair outcome if the season is curtailed. Considering we're heading towards a null & void in non-league and Scottish Leagues One & Two have been paused, I don't think it's a huge jump.

As far as Rovers are concerned at this point in time we are only left in one cup the Trophy. Between now and the end of the season there are 8 free Tuesdays available to play games. Only one of which in early Feb is reserved for the Trophy match. Thus 7 left to play 4 outstanding league games. Assuming we beat Wombles tonight that leaves 3 to play on the way to Wembley. What a way to end a miserable season UTG
